Oman Websites Competition Award for 2011, sixth edition, was organized by (SGS) company with support of Information Technology Authority. The ceremony was under the auspices of His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Ali bin Mohammed Al Wahaibi, Undersecretary of  Ministry of Transport and Communications for communication. 

 Educational meeting was held at Majan Hall at Muscat Directorate General about Shell Road Safety competition 2011. The aim this year is to modify undesirable practices of traffic for traffic conscious generation. 

H.E Dr. Madiha bent Ahmed Shebaniah Minister of Education issued a ministerial decree to form a committee to study the students’ transfer system and school rental transportation. The head will be Humaid bin Mohammed Al Hajri Adviser Secretary. 

Northern Batinah directorate culminated the first place in the Sultanate in the competition of Facts for Life book in the academic year 2010/2011. It was during the third conference of health-promoting schools ceremony organized by Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education. 

Ministry of Education recently concluded a training program in development of strategic thinking skills for supreme departments. It was organized by the Directorate-General for Human Resources Development from 24 to 26/10 at Ambassador Hall in Al Khuwair. It targeted consultants, general directors and their deputies in the Ministry and districts. 

The Department of Rehabilitation and training organized workshops on how to prepare a plan for professional development in 2012 from 22-26/10/2011. The workshop aimed to involve representatives from all sectors of education in the development of training programs they need for next year. 

Management Marketing Unit of the Sultanate held a news conference on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 to announce the details of the Muscat Youth Forum 2011, organized by the Unit for the third consecutive year in cooperation with of Royal Court, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Education and UNESCO with the support and partnership of Nawras, Oman Air, 

The Directorate General of Education in Northern Batinah held a forum on Shell’s Competition for Road Safety for Schools for the academic year 2011/2012. 

 Student Welfare Department in Northern Batinah held a meeting for the members of the local control commission of the region to discuss school’s cafeteria issues. 

Under the program of exchange visits between teachers from the Middle East and teachers from  United Kingdom, Ministry of Education, represented by the International Educational Programs Office organized a trip for British educators to a number of schools in the Sultanate in cooperation with the British Council. 

Her Excellency Dr. Madiha bent Ahmed Shibaniya Minister of Education, president of the Oman National Commission for Education, Culture and Science left yesterday evening headed to the French capital Paris to participate in the thirty-sixth session of the General Conference of UNESCO, which is held every two years during the period from October 25 to November 10 2011. 

  Within the celebrations of the Sultanate of the International Year of Chemistry 2011, and in conjunction with the celebrations of the international community declared by the General Assembly of the United Nations to celebrate the achievements of chemistry and its contributions to life,

 Yesterday morning H.E. Saud bin Salim Balochi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Educational Planning and Human Resource Development and Acting met Dr. Laila Gad representative UNICEF in Muscat. They discussed the next steps to implement the development education, vocational training and labor market observatory project, which is part of partnership between Ministry of Education and UNICEF.

It was organized by department of relations and educational media in the region.    

  The department of statistics and indicators, the directorate General for planning and Quality Control at the Ministry of Education, in collaboration and coordination with the Department of planning and Quality Control Directorate General of Education in Muscat governorate organized a meeting about electronic archiving of statistical books.
