Al Yarmook General Education School (5-12) in Al Suwaiq organized an open day under the auspices of Sheikh Abdullah ben Mohammed Al Buraiki, deputy Wali of Al Suwaiq. The open day was attended by Mohammed ben Abdullah Al Buraiki, head of educational supervision office in Suwaiq and Yusuf Al Mujaini public relations delegate.
The training program for assistant principals started yesterday morning in North Batinah Directorate. It was organized by school performance development section with participation of specialists and educators for three consecutive days in order to supplement the target group with the skills to do their jobs efficiently. The opening ceremony was attended by Hamad Al Sarhani, director general of North Batinah.
The main committee of hygiene and health in the school environment started visits yesterday morning to evaluate Buraimi directorate schools. The committee is headed by Sheikh Jaber ben  Mosa Al Abri, Adviser in the Ministry of Education for the competition affairs.
Football competitions continue in Buraimi directorate.They are organized by Al Fai Basic Education School for grades (1-10) in Al Rawdha. 6 teams are participating in these competitions representing a number of governmental and private institutions.The competitions are the first of its kind organized by the school.The competition is held during the period from (7-17/4/2012).
Her Excellency Dr.Madiha bent Ahmed Al Shibaniyah, Minister of Education received yesterday (Saturday) in her office in the ministry Steven Joyce, Minister of Higher Education and Minister of Economic Development, Minister of Science and Information and Assistant Minister of Finance in the Republic of New Zealand.  
Within the framework of the periodic reinforcement of directorate general of information technology to its employees and review the important steps which had been done to activate the technology and utilize the Ministry’s vision to join e-government.

Directorate general of education in North Batinah celebrated yesterday to honor winners in the educational activities for the year 2011/2012 under the auspices of Laila bent Ahmed ben Awadh Al Najar, director general of educational programs and in presence of Hamad ben Ali Al Sarhani, director general of North Batinah directorate. The celebration was held at Oman Hall in College of Applied Science in Sohar.
Football competition was launched in Al Buraimi Governorate. It was organized by Al Fai Basic Education School (1-10) in Al Rawdhah in Mohadha state. The teams which participated in the competition are Police station team, Al Rawdhah School team, Wali office team, Hadaf team and Al Fai school team. The contest is held during the period (7-17/4/2012).
Knowledge competition in Arabic Language of linguistic performance development committee started yesterday morning in the training centre of Al Buraimi Directorate for grade four students. This competition is for savvy students in grade four in Arabic language.
Ministry of Education represented by directorate general of educational evaluation held yesterday morning the initial competitions of the verbal competition of cognitive development program for students in science, mathematics and environment geographical concepts for grades (8-10). 11 teams from different governorates competed in the initial competitions.
Under the auspices of Dr. Mohammed ben Rashid ben Said Al Hadidi, deputy director of directorate general of educational evaluation  for exams, certificate and qualifications affairs, it was held yesterday morning the finals of verbal competition of cognitive development program for students in science, mathematics and environment geographical concepts for grades (5-7) in the Ministry stage in Wattaya.
Kaab ben Zaid Basic Education School achieved the first place in science challenge competition in the Sultanate. The competition is sponsored by British Council. This competition is a great opportunity to improve students’ skills in the field of science and to participate in an international forum in London where 8 Arab countries are participating in it.
Scout and guide commission in Al Dakhilya governorate is preparing for the visit of the central committee to evaluate scouts superiority competition for His Majesty The great Scout cup for the current year 2011/2012 which will start on Tuesday 10th of April and will last for three days to see the activities of the teams qualified in this competition.
North Batinah directorate represented by vocational guidance section started students’ registrations in the admission centre system. They distributed higher education institutions handbook earlier before the registration to all governorate schools. They help students to be aware of the registration mechanism and to follow up their choices and guide them by vocational guidance specialists in the schools.
