The main evaluation committee of Shell Award on the Roads completed evaluating projects, workshops and studies presented from different governorates in the Sultanate. 52 works were done about traffic awareness. They were assessed over three consecutive days starting on Friday and finished on Sunday the 13th of May.  

It was held in the directorate general of education in Buraimi governorate a meeting about Oman Challenge Program and Joint Program for Scholarships in presence of Dr. Nasser ben Salim AL Ghanbosi, director of studies and technical support division in the National Centre of Vocational Guidance and Mohammed Al Riyami from Oman Challenge Program and Ali AL Zidi head of vocational guidance section.

Under the auspices of Her Excellency Dr.Madiha bent Ahmed Al Shibaniyah, Minister of Education, directorate general of private schools organized operetta (light of astronomies) in an effort to develop students’ talents and creativity.The operetta focused on students innovative achievements they have made during the current year to support these efforts and creations.

Under the auspices of His Excellency Shaikh Mohammed ben Hamdan AL Tobi, adviser in the Ministry of Education, directorate general of education in South Sharqiyya governorate organized a celebration about the Teacher’s Day. The celebration was held at Al Hanaa Hall in Sur. 186 teachers were honored in this celebration.

Educational forum for school principals (School Administration ….. active role and expectancy return) is held today (Wednesday) under the auspices of Dr.Madiha bent Ahmed Al Shibaniyah Minister of Education. It is held at Majan Hall in Al Bustan palace and it is attended by 382 participants of school principals and their assistants.   

In order to raise the level of pre-school teachers and refine their teaching skills, it was launched on Saturday the 5th of May 2012 the training course to rehabilitate teachers of pre-school. The course is organized by Ministry of Education represented by directorate general of private schools. The number of trainees is 125 from Muscat, Musandam and Al Dhahira. It will last till Saturday 30th of June 2012.

About one thousand and four hundred male and female students from different schools in Al Dakhilya governorate participate in the summer program which is organized by Ministry of Education for the fourth consecutive year. It will be held during the period from 27th of June till 18th of July. Students will be distributed to 14 centers, seven for boys and the same for girls.   

Directorate general of education in South Batinah governorate celebrated on Sunday’s morning on the stage of College of Applied Science in Al Rustaq horning 253 teachers. The celebration was held under the auspices of His Excellency governor of South Batinah Shaikh Hilal ben Said ben Hamdan Al Hajri and in presence of director general of education in South Batinah Dr. Nasser ben Abdullah ben Salim Al Abri.

Scientific exploration centre was opened yesterday morning at North Sharqiya directorate under the auspices of Dr.Madiha ben Ahmed Al SHibaniyah, Minister of Education and in presence of a number of Excellencies, Shaikhs and heads of governmental and private institutions in the governorate.

Parents’ council in Al Suwaiq celebrated in cooperation with Educational Supervision Office in Al Suwaiq honoring excellent students in academic achievements and educational activities in governmental and private schools and students of Al Wafa Centre for the current year 2011/2012. The celebration was held at Yafa Hall Theatre. The honoring included 179 students.  

Directorate general of education in Al Dhahira governorate organized yesterday morning the ninth annual forum for teachers under the slogan (Leading Educational experiences and projects). The forum was held at Oman chamber of commerce and industry in Ibri under the auspices of Ali ben Humeed Al Jahwari, Director general of Education in Al Dhahira. The forum will last for two days.

Ministry of Education represented by International Programs Office organized the first forum of GLOBE Program in the Sultanate. All schools applying the program from different governorates participated in the forum which was held at Al Qurm National Park.

North Batinah directorate celebrated Teacher’s Day under the auspices of His Excellency Shaikh Muhanna ben Seef Al Lamki, governor of North Batinah and in presence of Hamad ben Ali Al Sarhani, director general of education. The celebration was held in Oman Hall at College of Applied Science in Sohar.

Traffic Culture Seminar events were held under the auspices of Humood ben Khalfan Al Harthi, undersecretary of Ministry of Education for Education and Curriculum. The seminar was held at Ministry of Education theatre in Watayya. It was organized by directorate general of administration affairs, transportation and services division and participation of Oman Royal Police and Ministry of Religious Affairs.

The closing ceremony of students project assessment of cognitive development project for students in math, science and environment geographical concepts for the year 2011/2012 was held on Tuesday under the auspices of Dr.Sana bent Sabeel Al Balushiah, director general of the National Centre of vocational guidance in the Ministry of Education.
