New Zealand educational delegation visited on Saturday’s morning the National Center for Vocational Guidance to learn about the sultanate experience in the field of vocational guidance in various programs and projects implemented in governorates in the sultanate.
The training program (Technology Employment in the Educational Process) has started yesterday morning. It was organized by school management at Royal Court Affairs in Salalah in cooperation with the directorate general of education in Dhofar governorate.
Directorate general of education in South Sharqiyah hosted yesterday experts of quality control from 'Al Mabdaa' office for administrative counseling. The visit aims to introduce quality management system project ISO 9001 in the Ministry of Education. The delegation included expert Suhair Al Jarboshi and Omar Al Jilani from Tunisia accompanied by Ali AL Darmaki, Quality control specialist in the Ministry.  
Her Excellency Dr. Madiha bent Ahmed Al Shibaniah, Minister of education chaired the eighth meeting of the committee of the educational polices and education development which was held on Monday in the Ministry of Education in presence of Their Excellencies undersecretaries and members of the committee.
Activities of the training program which is organized by the main committee of organizing and administrating the summer program for students 20012 continues this week. It aims to train trainers of six specific programs: we read program, economic and financial science program, software programs and networks and green ideas program. 
The workshop activities about the stages of quality management system establishment has started yesterday morning  under the auspices of Khalfan ben Mohammed Al Gaithi, Director General of Directorate General of administrative affairs in the Ministry of Education  and in presence of Ridha Al Lawati, director general of planning and quality management.
National Centre for Vocational Guidance in cooperation with Psychology Department at College of Education at Sultan Qaboos University organized a discussion workshop about vocational guidance diploma program for the year 2012/2013. The discussion was held at career guidance at Sultan Qaboos University.
General Diploma examinations have started yesterday at the Sultanate SchoolsGeneral diploma certificate examinations of the second semester for the current year 2011/2012 have started on Saturday morning. The number of applicants for the examinations are (67278) male and female students from all governorates.
The local committee of summer program in North Batinah directorate discussed its preparation to start the program. The meeting was chaired by Ahmed ben Rashid Al Fazari, head of educational programs division and the committee. The meeting was attended by heads of centers.
 Ministry of Education represented by the Technical Support Department in cooperation with Microsoft International Company organized a workshop about Live@Edu which is a collection of free services and applications offered by Microsoft Company to educational institutions.
Under the auspices of Dr.Madiha bent Ahmed Al SHibaniyah, Minister of Education celebrated Teacher’s Day in presence of Ministers, Deputy Ministers, advisors and director generals. The celebration was held on Monday at Oman Hall in Al Bustan Palace Hotel.
Ministry of Education represented by document division organized a workshop about the procedures of document management. It included a workshop for heads of divisions, heads of departments in the directorate general of education in Musandom. The workshop is held at the training centre and will continue for five days.
A delegation from the Arab Bureau of Education for gulf countries visited yesterday morning the National Centre for Vocational Guidance in order to see the programs and activities which are carried out by the centre. The delegation which included representative from various Gulf countries was received by Dr.Sana bent Sabeel Al Balushiyah, director general of the National Centre. 
The end of activities for the International Year of Chemistry 2011 celebration was help yesterday at Crown Plaza Hotel under the auspices of Dr.Humood ben Khalfan Al Harthy undersecretary of Ministry of Education for Education and Curriculum. The celebration was organized by the National Committee for Education, Culture and Science.
A training program has started on Saturday at Hope School (Al Amal School) to rehabilitate workers in the field of disabilities. They learn the methods and strategies to improve hearing and communication language of students. It was organized by directorate general of educational programs represented by special education division. It will last for five days.
