Minister of Education meets with Specialists at the Omani Human Rights Commission

HE Dr. Madiha bint Ahmed Al-Shaibaniyah, Minister of Education, received Dr. Rashid bin Hamad Al-Balushi, Chairman of the Omani Human Rights Commission, and his accompanying delegation. This meeting took place within the framework of ongoing cooperation between the two entities to monitor the implementation of the Human Rights Strategy project in the Sultanate of Oman.

During the meeting, the executive status of the strategy preparation stages was reviewed, and its most prominent themes related to promoting a culture of rights, consolidating the principles of equality and equal opportunities, protecting the most vulnerable groups, and strengthening national efforts in the field of spreading awareness of rights and duties in the educational environment were discussed.

The two sides also discussed aspects of integration between the Ministry of Education and the Omani Human Rights Commission, particularly with regard to developing curricula to promote human rights concepts, implementing training programs for educational staff, and establishing joint initiatives targeting students and the school community, in order to contribute to building a generation aware of its rights, duties and national responsibilities.

During the meeting, HE the Minister affirmed the Ministry's commitment to supporting national efforts in this field and providing the necessary data and resources to ensure the success of the strategy project. She also commended the Commission's role in monitoring and promoting human rights in accordance with international standards. On their part, the delegation members expressed their appreciation of the fruitful cooperation with the Ministry and its vital role in instilling human rights values ​​at all educational levels, emphasizing their continued joint efforts to achieve the strategy's objectives and fulfill its intended goals.
