Launching the Seventh Station of the Educational Tools Convoy Initiative

The Ministry of Education, represented by the Directorate-General for Curriculum Development, celebrated the launch of the seventh station of the "Educational Tools Convoy: Innovation and Communication" initiative, and the opening of the accompanying exhibition, with the participation of the education departments of Muscat Governorate and Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, under the patronage of the Honorable Lamis bint Abbas Al Bahrani, Member of the State Council, and in the presence of Dr. Sulaiman Al Jamudi, Director-General of the Directorate-General for Curriculum Development, the Directors-General of Education of Al Dakhiliyah Governorate and of Muscat Governorate, and a group of school principals, teachers, and representatives of supporting institutions and companies.

Issa Al-Anqoudi, Director of the Educational Technology Department, delivered a speech on behalf of the Directorate-General for Curriculum Development, stating: “The first phase of the convoy covered six educational governorates, with the participation of 1,649 teachers from 340 schools, who presented 1,466 educational tools. This phase witnessed an attendance exceeding 28,000 visitors and included 32 events and specialized training workshops.” He added: “The second phase of the convoy was implemented in five educational directorates, encompassing North Al Sharqiyah, South Al Sharqiyah, Dhofar, Al Wusta, and Musandam. It included a mobile exhibition that moved between three main stations, showcasing the latest educational tools and innovations. 804 teachers from 277 schools participated, and 31 accompanying events were held. The total number of visitors and participants in the voting process reached 140,264.” He concluded by saying: “The third phase of the convoy focuses on introducing modern technologies and artificial intelligence in the production of educational materials and involving private schools and special education schools.”

Sadiqa Al-Mousawi, Head of the Technical Supervision Department in Muscat Governorate, confirmed that this initiative aims to showcase teachers' creativity and facilitate the exchange of expertise among them through educational exhibitions and diverse workshops focusing on the use of advanced technologies such as augmented reality and virtual reality. She added: "Organizing this convoy stems from an understanding that the world is witnessing rapid advancements in knowledge and technology, which have impacted educational goals, methods, and approaches, and that keeping pace with these challenges by employing modern methods and tools enables those working in the educational field to achieve educational objectives and deliver them to all segments of society."

Al-Yamamah Al-Hasani, an Arabic language teacher in the Al-Dakhiliyah Governorate, said of her participation in the convoy: “The Educational Tools Convoy is one of the pioneering initiatives adopted by the Ministry of Education in line with Oman Vision 2040. It is the fruit of fruitful cooperation and a sincere desire for creativity and excellence, aiming to make the learning environment more vibrant and interactive.” She explained that these innovative educational tools serve as windows to understanding and bridges to thinking, enhancing student interaction, and making abstract concepts more accessible and engaging. The initiative also sought to design educational tools that are simple in cost yet profound in their impact, contributing to effective student engagement and stimulating their intellectual and creative abilities.

The patronage of the event and the attendees toured the exhibition accompanying the Educational Tools Convoy at its seventh station, viewing the educational tools and innovative projects presented by participants from the Muscat and Al Dakhiliyah governorates. The Educational Tools Convoy aims to encourage educators to develop low-cost teaching aids, integrate modern technology into their production, utilize them in classrooms, and foster a culture of innovation among students, thereby contributing to improved educational quality.
