In the field of education, the wheel of creativity never stops turning. There are minds searching, hands creating, and ideas paving their way towards excellence. From here, the convoy of educational tools – innovation and communication – moves on, carrying between its stations the spirit of renewal, the brilliance of the idea, and the message of education based on inspiration and experimentation.

The convoy is one of the quality educational initiatives that aims to promote creativity and innovation in the educational environment, and to highlight the efforts of teachers in designing interactive educational tools that contribute to raising the quality of the educational process and improving learning outcomes.

Dr. Sulaiman Al-Jamudi, Director-General of the Directorate-General for Curriculum Development, explains that the Directorate, represented by the Department of Educational Technologies, is continuing to implement the third phase of the Educational Tools Convoy Initiative – Innovation and Communication during the first semester of 2025/2026, with the support of private sector institutions, in order to enhance the innovation process and consolidate community partnership in the development of education.

He stated that the current phase focuses on integrating modern technologies and artificial intelligence into the design of educational tools, in addition to involving private schools and special education schools, which contributes to raising the efficiency of teachers and developing students’ abilities, in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.

The activities of this stage are distributed across three main stations covering six educational governorates, starting from the Muscat Governorate (November 10-12, 2025) with the participation of schools from the Muscat and Al Dakhiliyah governorates, followed by the North Al Batinah station (November 17-19, 2025) with the participation of schools from the North Al Batinah and South Al Batinah governorates, and concluding the stage in the Al Buraimi Governorate (December 9-11, 2025) with the participation of schools from the Al Buraimi and Al Dhahirah governorates.

Dr. Al-Jamudi affirms that the initiative embodies the Ministry’s commitment to creating an educational environment that stimulates creativity and knowledge, and to enabling educational staff and students to actively contribute to the development of education.

Dr. Mohammed Al-Muqbali, supervisor of the Educational Tools Convoy in the Al-Buraimi Governorate, says that the convoy's work begins with early preparation through communication with schools and clarifying the participation criteria and competition conditions, in order to ensure equal opportunities and enhance the readiness of teachers.

He adds that the acceptance of works is subject to precise standards that focus on ease of use, innovation, the attractiveness of the medium, and consideration of the individual differences between students, so that the convoy concludes with the organization of a comprehensive exhibition in which the output of the teachers’ creativity and their distinguished works are displayed.

Zayed Al-Hilali, Senior Educational Media Specialist in the Technical Supervision Department of South Al Batinah Governorate, explains that the technical teams are working to disseminate the initiative's culture through direct and indirect meetings across various governorates, in addition to engaging with social media platforms and other media outlets, and monitoring outstanding practices from participating schools. He indicates that the third phase of the initiative has strengthened the pillars of digital transformation in line with Oman Vision 2040, by integrating artificial intelligence, augmented and virtual reality technologies, smart applications, and 3D printing to keep pace with developments in the learning environment and connect tangible resources with modern digital media.

Amina Al-Muqbali, a teacher at Riyad Al-Ibdaa Basic Education School in the North Al Batinah Governorate, affirms that the Educational Tools Convoy – Innovation and Communication initiative is a pioneering initiative that contributes to improving the quality of education by providing innovative educational tools that help teachers transform lessons into interactive experiences that foster creative thinking in students. She adds that the convoy represents a fertile environment for exchanging experiences among teachers and encouraging them to design their own educational innovations, thus enhancing research and development skills in the educational field and making learning more enjoyable and engaging.

Abdullah Al-Roushdi, a life skills teacher at Al-Hussein Bin Ali Basic Education School in North Al Batinah Governorate, believes that the convoy initiative represents a qualitative leap in supporting the educational process. He explains that it provides a stimulating environment for experimentation and practical application and contributes to enhancing students' creative thinking skills. He points out that the convoy has given teachers and students the opportunity to explore diverse educational tools that serve various subjects, thus contributing to the adoption of interactive and experiential learning methods instead of traditional approaches. He emphasizes that integrating modern educational tools into lessons enhances students' ability to understand, analyze, and solve problems, and gives teachers space to innovate and renew educational practices within the school.

Talal Al-Jabri, Senior Supervisor of the Second Field Education in Muscat Governorate, stated that the initiative aims to foster a spirit of innovation in the educational field and expand the use of digital technologies to support student learning and skills development. He explained that the convoy offered online registration for those wishing to participate, followed by a review and selection of submitted tools by specialized teams. These tools were categorized into five themes, encompassing tangible and digital tools, as well as those designed for special education. In the subsequent stage, 40 outstanding educational tools were selected to advance to the convoy's final stage. He added that the convoy's activities are rich with diverse practical programs, including training workshops and innovative workshops in areas such as designing educational models, developing intelligence games, creating computer programs, and exploring artificial intelligence technologies. This fosters a culture of creativity and encourages the exchange of expertise among participants.
