The Ministry of Education organized the "Noor" Forum under the patronage of HE Prof. Dr. Abdullah bin Khamis Ambosaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, and in the presence of HE Majid bin Said Al Bahri, Undersecretary of the Ministry for Administrative and Financial Affairs, and Directors-General of the Directorates-General of the Ministry's General Diwan and the educational directorates in the governorates, and Directors of the Departments of Information Technology, Educational Supervision and Special Education in the governorates. The forum tool place at the Barcelo Resort in the Wilayat of Al Musannah.
This forum coincides with the implementation of a number of digital transformation projects in schools. It is based on the Ministry's approach to project management and change management, which involves stakeholders from the early stages of the project, leveraging feedback for continuous improvement and development, identifying the extent of benefits from implemented projects, identifying challenges encountered during implementation, and monitoring improvement proposals for all phases.
The forum included three working sessions. The first session, titled "E-Learning Management System." Participated in the session are Ali Al Aadi, Director of the E-Transformation Project; Dr. Ali Al Shakili, Director-General of the Directorate-General of Education in Muscat Governorate; Ali Al Harthy, Director-General of the Directorate-General of Education in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate; Dr. Mazoon Al Shahriya, Director-General of the Directorate-General of Education in Dhofar Governorate; and Dr. Walid Al Hashimi, Director-General of the Directorate- General of Education in North Al Batinah Governorate. During the session, the most important developments in implementing the system in schools in the educational governorates were reviewed, as well as the most prominent challenges and difficulties facing its implementation, and ways to overcome and develop them.
The second session, titled "Interactive Whiteboards," moderated by Ahmed Al Ghatrifi, Director of the Electronic Information Security Department, discussed the key enablers that have contributed to the activation of interactive whiteboards and sustainability enablers, their most positive aspects that have contributed to improving the quality of education, and the proposed improvements to make the learning experience through interactive whiteboards an enhanced digital experience. The session was attended by: Nabila Al Shehhi, Director-General of the Directorate-General of Education in Musandam Governorate; Dr. Nasser Al Ghanbousi, Director-General of the Directorate-General of Education in South Al Batinah Governorate; Abdullah Al Fouri, Director-General of the Directorate-General of Education in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate; and Alia Al Habsi, Director-General of the Directorate-General of Education in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate.
The third session, "Mobile Computer Lab," addressed the most prominent practices and experiences in employing mobile labs in the educational process. Saif Al Abdali, Director-General of the Directorate-General of Education in Al Buraimi Governorate, Zuwaina Al Mazroui, Director-General of the Directorate-General of Education in Al Dhahirah Governorate, and Majid Al Sinawi, Director-General of the Directorate-General of Education in Al Wusta Governorate, participated.
At the conclusion of the forum, the Digital Transformation Pioneers Initiative was reviewed. The initiative involves forming a team of representatives from education directorates from various governorates who volunteer to help their colleagues understand new digital tools and their workflow.
