HE Dr. Madiha bint Ahmed Al Shaibaniyah, Minister of Education, and her accompanying delegation met with HE Sheikh Hilal bin Said Al Hajri, Governor of Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, and a number of officials from the governorate. This visit is part of the Minister of Education's ongoing visits to meet with governors and members of municipal councils, strengthening communication and coordination and facilitating the exchange of visions and proposals on ways to develop the educational process.
During the meeting, a visual presentation was presented, highlighting the Ministry's efforts and development projects in various educational fields in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate. Topics shared between the Ministry and the Governor's Office were discussed, and opinions and proposals aimed at improving the quality of educational services provided to students were heard.
The presentation included several main topics. Dr. Sulaiman Al-Jamudi, Director-General of the Directorate-General of Curriculum Development, addressed the principles of developing school education in the Sultanate, pointing to updating curricula according to the best international standards, preparing a professional framework for future skills, and building documents for Omani curricula standards, in addition to developing the curriculum for grades (1-4) and the basic education stage.
Dr. Intisar Ambusaidi, Director-General of the Specialized Institute for Professional Training for Teachers, presented a working paper on the components of developing the educational system through teacher advancement. She explained that empowering teachers cognitively and skill-wise is achieved through developing training and qualification programs. She emphasized that the institute was established in 2014 to serve as a reference for teacher training, support, and assistance, in addition to increasing the budget allocated for professional development and building the Omani national framework for the teaching profession.
Dr. Yahya Al Harthi, Director-General of the Educational Measurement and Evaluation Center, reviewed the efforts made to develop a vocational and technical education track, including specializations in administrative sciences, engineering, and tourism. He also touched on developing the educational evaluation system by establishing international standards, participating in global studies, digital transformation in national tests, and developing the educational evaluation system.
Faisal Al Busaidi, Director-General of the Directorate-General of Information Technology, highlighted digital transformation projects in the education system, including the digitization of curricula, the launch of the "Noor" educational platform, the implementation of the digital atlas project, the provision of interactive whiteboards and mobile computer carts, and capacity building in the field of artificial intelligence by developing frameworks for its ethics and competencies.
Sulaiman bin Zaher Al-Ruwaishdi, Director-General of Strategic Planning and Development, reviewed a set of statistical indicators that reflected the reality of the education system in the Sultanate, detailing the number of students and teachers in public, private, and international schools, in addition to monitoring the development of the number of government buildings and schools during the tenth five-year plan.
At the end of the meeting, the importance of strengthening the partnership and coordination between the Ministry of Education and the Governor's Office was emphasized, contributing to the development of the education sector, and meeting the needs of schools in the governorate, ensuring quality education, and keeping pace with the requirements of sustainable development.
In the evening, HE the Minister of Education patronized a ceremony honoring outstanding students from the Wilayat of Adam schools, celebrating their efforts and achievements in various scientific and academic fields. The ceremony honors outstanding students to enhance their motivation to learn and encourage them to continue to excel and innovate. It also instills a culture of positive competition among their peers and highlights outstanding student models who contribute to building a generation capable of continuing the national development process.
