The 2025 Institutional Excellence Award for Gender Equality in Educational Institutions team visited Al-Nibras Primary School, Rawae'a Al-Ma'rifa International School, and Al-Ajyal Al-Asriya School. The award targets school administrators, social and psychological specialists, and school activities specialists.
The visit included an explanation of the training plan for male and female teachers, based on establishing the foundations of equality and equal opportunities between the sexes. It also included developing models for extracurricular activities to promote gender equality in the Sultanate of Oman's schools. The visit also included developing a plan to encourage students to pursue scientific disciplines and enter the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). It also included developing an awareness plan to reduce the risks of bullying, discrimination, and gender-based violence, as well as explaining a code of conduct for staff to ensure a safe and respectful learning environment for all.
The visit aims to raise awareness, encourage schools to participate in the award, provide the necessary support and assistance to ensure their participation, foster partnerships between primary, international, and private schools to ensure equal opportunities for students, and achieve the award's objectives, ensuring its continuity and spreading its culture among schools.
The visit comes within the framework of the ongoing cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Education, and the Arab Women Organization. It also builds on the coordination meeting held by the Arab Women Organization with award coordinators from various Arab countries to introduce the award, clarify the role of its representatives and those responsible for monitoring its implementation, and highlight the importance of schools in Arab countries participating in the award.
