The Minister of Education honors Outstanding Students in Abroad Participation

HE Dr. Madiha bint Ahmed Al Shaibaniyah, Minister of Education, patronized the honoring ceremony of the outstanding students in regional and international participation, which was held at the JW Marriott Hotel in Al Irfan City. The ceremony was attended by Their Excellencies the Undersecretaries of the Ministry and a number of invitees from government and private institutions, as well as the outstanding students and their parents.

This ceremony was held to celebrate the achievements of Omani students in various scientific, cultural, and sporting events. During the ceremony, (120) students and educational supervisors were honored for representing the Sultanate of Oman in a number of international and regional competitions and achieving advanced positions. These participations included: the International Exhibition of Innovation, Invention and Technology (ITEX), the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), the Arab Robotics Championship, the Arab Mathematics Olympiad, the Fadia Al-Saad Scientific Innovation Competition, the Gulf Artificial Intelligence Hackathon, the Gulf School Sports Championship, the Gulf Science Olympiad, the International Junior Science Olympiad, the Arab Chemistry Olympiad, and other distinguished participations.

Dr. Maya Al Azri, Advisor to the Minister of Education for Scientific Innovation, delivered the Ministry's speech, in which she emphasized that this ceremony embodies the Ministry's commitment to instilling a culture of scientific excellence in the hearts of young people and encouraging them to take on challenges in various fields; to be ambassadors of knowledge and innovation. She added: "This excellence is the result of the combined efforts of the family, the school, the educational directorates, and all sectors of the Ministry, in addition to the supporting institutions in the community." She pointed out that honoring outstanding students contributes to motivating them to continue their path of excellence and encourages their peers to exert greater efforts to raise the name of the Sultanate of Oman in international forums.

Student Dana Al Balushi from Al Rabie Al Najariyah Basic Education School in the South Al Batinah Governorate also delivered a speech on behalf of outstanding students. She highlighted the importance of external participation in developing skills and refining personalities, emphasizing that such participation contributes to preparing a generation capable of representing their country with competence and ability.

The ceremony included a video presentation showcasing the most prominent training programs the students underwent, documenting their participation in various competitions, and the awards they achieved at the local and international levels.

This ceremony is a culmination of the efforts made by students and educational supervisors in representing the Sultanate of Oman honorably in various forums. It embodies the Ministry of Education's approach to supporting and nurturing outstanding students, contributing to the building of a creative, empowered generation capable of competing globally.
