Honoring 125 Outstanding Students in the General Education Diploma and its Equivalent

The Ministry of Education celebrated the honoring of (125) outstanding students in the General Education Diploma and its equivalent, in a ceremony held under the patronage of HE Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion, and in the presence of HE Dr. Madiha bint Ahmed Al Shaibaniyah, Minister of Education, and a number of officials and parents, with the support of Occidental Oman.

The honoring included (27) male students and (98) female students, in appreciation of their efforts and achievements during the academic year, and the advanced levels they achieved that qualified them to be bright models in the educational process in the Sultanate.

HE Prof. Dr. Abdullah bin Khamis Ambosaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, delivered the Ministry's speech in which he said: “This ceremony is not merely an occasion for honoring, but rather a moment of pride for every home, every school, every teacher, and every hand that extended knowledge, care, and support. It is a celebration of success, to which everyone contributed: the community, the family, the school, and the student himself.”

HE added: "The Ministry of Education, as it stands today as a witness to this success, affirms its unwavering commitment to continuing the journey towards quality education, enabling the children of this beloved nation to excel in the fields of science and knowledge, and to face the challenges of the age with confidence and competence, in partnership with the various sectors and institutions of the state."

Nasser Al Maskari, Director of Corporate Social Responsibility at Occidental Oman, said: “Occidental Oman places great importance on supporting and investing in education, as it is a sustainable investment that has a positive impact on successive generations. This is in line with the lofty directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, may Allah protect him, which aim to provide education with all means of empowerment in line with the requirements of the next phase and with Oman Vision 2040, which has placed education and strengthening national capabilities at the top of its priorities.”

He concluded his remarks by stressing that the partnership with the Ministry of Education is a long-standing one, strengthened by a number of community projects that have had a positive and sustainable impact on society, directly aiming to develop the education system in the Sultanate.

Students Al-Muther Al Jabri and Lamees Al Belushi, delivered a speech on behalf of the distinguished students, saying: “What a memorable moment it was when we realized that knowledge is the most beautiful adventure we can embark on, and that excellence represents for us the beginning of a greater responsibility towards ourselves and towards a nation that expects us to carry its banner with knowledge and integrity. We assure you that we will harness what we have learned from you, and that we will be shining beacons guiding society towards progress and prosperity. We will contribute to building a nation that embraces everyone with love, justice, and humanity. We will continue on the path of excellence with determination and resolve and represent our country in scientific and international forums in a manner that reflects the authenticity, progress, and leadership of our country.”

By honoring outstanding General Education Diploma graduates, the Ministry seeks to highlight its commitment to nurturing outstanding students, appreciating their achievements, and encouraging them to continue their academic efforts and pursuits. This will enhance the spirit of positive competition among students across various educational directorates. This initiative also aims to instill the values ​​of ambition, diligence, and perseverance in the hearts of young people, and motivate other students to emulate and follow in their footsteps. It also highlights the active role of families and schools in supporting students to achieve excellence.

This honor underscores the Ministry's commitment to preparing a conscious generation capable of serving the nation and participating in its progress, embodying community partnerships with institutions that support the educational process.
