The Ministry of Education, represented by the Directorate-General of Educational Supervision, in cooperation with the Directorate-General of Information Technology, implemented a training program for the decentralized team with the aim of enhancing participants' skills in employing and activating interactive screens and digital projects in the classroom environment. The program was held at Al Qayyim Basic Education School in Al Amerat.

This program comes within the preparation framework of activating the project of providing interactive screens in primary schools, which is being implemented by the Ministry in support of its digital transformation orientations and to achieve the goals of Oman Vision 2040. During the past period, more than (5,000) interactive screens were supplied, installed, and operated in various schools in the educational governorates, as a first phase of the project. The project includes the installation of smart screens accompanied by two whiteboards on both sides, to replace traditional blackboards in classrooms and activity rooms, which is a qualitative shift in supporting interactive learning within classrooms.

The program targets faculty members, including teachers and technicians, to familiarize them with the workings of interactive screens and their technical features. It also provides them with the skills to interact with and utilize them in the educational and classroom process, keeping pace with modern technological developments and contributing to improving the schoolwork environment.

Commenting on the importance of this program, Dr. Motasim Al Balushi, Assistant Director-General of the Directorate-General of Educational Supervision, said: “This program is one of the national strategies in the digital transformation project, as it focuses on introducing interactive electronic screens into the educational environment. It aims to integrate technologies, applications, digital media, and artificial intelligence into the educational process, through these screens supported by high-speed internet. These screens undoubtedly play a very significant role in harmonizing global educational experiences and practices, as they contribute to improving the educational process and raising its efficiency in line with international standards.”

Regarding the role of educational supervision in this project, He said: "Our role in educational supervision focuses on training primary school teachers, as well as training educational supervisors on how to activate these screens and familiarize themselves with their components and features. Teachers are also trained to prepare practical lessons that effectively integrate the digital aspect into the educational context. They can also be used in professional learning communities, activate educational supervision remotely through networks, and deliver practical lessons at the school or directorate level."
