Three Omani Teams win International Awards

The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Education, received (3) international awards for its participation with (3) teams from government schools in the 36th International Exhibition of Invention, Innovation and Technology 2025, which was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in May 2025.

Student Ayoub Al Akhzami from Al Harith bin Khalid School in Muscat Governorate won first place (gold medal) for his participation in Information and Communication Technology and Multimedia, under the supervision of teacher Hilal Al Maadi. Students Tamim Al Maamari and Omar Al Barmani from Naeem bin Masoud School in North Al Batinah Governorate won gold medal as well for their participation in the field of environment with their invention of an environmentally friendly diesel particulate filter, under the supervision of teacher Majid Al Maqbali. Student Razan Al Maqbali from Mari School in South Al Batinah Governorate won second place (silver medal) for her participation in the field of biotechnology and health, under the supervision of teacher Wafaa Al Maamari.

The International Invention, Innovation, and Technology Exhibition (ITEX25) is an annual exhibition that explores various innovative ideas and technical projects in the fields of science and technology. It is a global platform for attracting inventions and innovations and is attracting a number of investors and businessmen with the participation of various innovators and interested parties from around the world. It includes a number of ideas and inventions from around the world.

The exhibition is organized annually by the Malaysian Invention and Design Society (MINDS) and has since become the most prominent international platform for inventions and innovations in the region with a wide range of categories that include more than (20) countries. The exhibition aims to build students' thinking through the multiple fields of participation available, and the Department of Innovation and Scientific Olympiad at the Ministry of Education seeks to participate in the International Exhibition of Invention, Innovation and Technology annually to compete at the level of international competitions, and to interact with students from participating countries from different countries of the world.
