The Ministry of Education, represented by the Office of the Undersecretary for Education, in cooperation with the Arab Center for Educational Research for the Gulf States, is implementing a three-day training workshop on blended learning at the Movenpick Hotel. The workshop targets twenty specialists in curriculum and educational supervision from member states of the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States.
Hamad Al-Sarhani, Advisor to the Minister of Education for Educational Administration, delivered the Ministry's speech. He said, "We live in an era of accelerating digital transformations, which compels us to adopt innovative educational models that respond to learners' aspirations and the demands of the times. Hence, comes the importance of blended learning as a strategic option that combines the best of traditional and e-learning."
This was followed by a speech by the Arab Center for Educational Research for the Gulf States, delivered by Dr. Mohammed Al-Sharika, Director of the Center. He welcomed the attendees and participants, then thanked the Ministry of Education in the Sultanate of Oman for its efforts in supporting joint Gulf action. He also spoke about the training session and educational transformations, such as blended learning.
The training session is presented by Dr. Mohammed Al-Rayes, Director of Digital Curriculum Strategy at the National Curriculum Center in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The session includes an introduction to blended learning, its advantages, challenges, underlying theories, and guidelines for its implementation. It also covers its models, including the station rotation model, the laboratory rotation model, the individual rotation model, the flexible model, the enhanced virtual model, and the transitional model. The training session also covers the technical and pedagogical knowledge content framework, the flipped classroom model, its benefits, and challenges, in-person teaching and e-learning, the integration of in-person and e-learning, the effectiveness of the integration process, and digital content.
The training session aims to raise participants' awareness of the concept of blended learning, its importance, and the reasons for its implementation in member states. It also aims to provide participants with skills in designing blended learning environments, including educational methods, technological tools, and educational content. It also aims to develop participants' knowledge of various models of blended learning and their application methods, and to exchange experiences among specialists in the field of blended learning in member states.
This session aims to inform educational specialists in member states of the program's outcomes and provide them with a comprehensive understanding of the concept of blended learning and its effective strategies. It focuses on how to design and implement educational environments that integrate traditional learning and e-learning using innovative methods. It also aims to exchange experiences, discuss best practices, and analyze the challenges associated with implementing this educational model in member states, thus contributing to achieving learning objectives and enhancing the outcomes of the educational process in a sustainable manner.
