HE Dr. Madiha bint Ahmed Al Shaibaniyah, Minister of Education, visited Takatuf Petrofac Oman Institute, accompanied by Dr. Ali Al Shukaili, Director-General of the Directorate-General of Education in Muscat Governorate, Dr. Sultan Al Kindi, Director-General of the Directorate-General of Vocational and Technical Education, and a number of officials in vocational and technical education, to learn about the implementation of vocational and technical education (engineering and industrial specializations) at the institute.

At the beginning of the visit, HE the Minister met with the Board of Directors of Takatuf Petrofac Oman Institute and the Oman Energy Association (OPAL) to expand the partnership between the Ministry and private institutions to enhance the quality of education, follow up on the Institute's efforts in applying engineering and industrial specializations, and discuss a number of future projects and ways to expand areas of partnership in line with national development plans and Oman Vision 2040. The meeting also emphasized the importance of the private sector's role in supporting the Ministry's efforts to provide high-quality vocational and technical education.

Following the meeting, the Minister and her accompanying delegation visited the engineering and industrial specializations' classrooms and the institute's practical training halls. They were briefed on the halls' equipment and the training programs offered, and listened to a detailed explanation of the training mechanisms in the engineering and industrial specializations in which students are trained. They praised the institute's advanced level of preparation and qualification for the job market.

At the conclusion of the visit, HE expressed her appreciation for the efforts of the Takatuf Petrofac Oman Institute and the Oman Energy Association (OPAL) in supporting vocational and technical education and training, stressing the importance of continued coordination and integration between the public and private sectors to achieve common national goals.

The visit of HE the Minister of Education to the Takatuf Petrofac Oman Institute aimed to gain a firsthand insight into the experience of implementing vocational and technical education at training centers and institutes, follow up on efforts to implement vocational and technical education in engineering and industrial specializations to enhance the confidence of students in the various tracks, and review the practical training provided for engineering and industrial specializations at the Institute. The visit also aimed to encourage and motivate students to exert effort to acquire skills that qualify them to join higher education institutions and compete in the labor market, listen to suggestions and challenges, and work to find appropriate solutions to address them.
