The Ministry of Education organized a ceremony to honor the teachers who won the second edition of the Omani Teacher Excellence Award, under the patronage of HE Dr. Laila bint Ahmed Al Najjar, Minister of Social Development. The ceremony was attended by HE Dr. Madiha bint Ahmed Al Shaibaniyah, Minister of Education, Their Excellencies the honorable members of the Council of State, Their Excellencies the Undersecretaries of the Ministry, the Directors-General of the Ministry’s General Diwan, the education directorates in the governorates, and educators, at the St. Regis Al Mouj Hotel.
HE Prof. Abdullah bin Khamis Ambosaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Education and Chairman of the Award's Supervisory Committee, delivered a speech in which he said: "Here we are today, extending our deepest gratitude to the teachers who have devoted themselves to giving and proven that excellence is not a goal, but a way of life. They did not just perform their duties but went beyond becoming beacons to be followed and examples to be told in the field of education. This honor is not the end, but rather a new beginning towards broader horizons of excellence, and a renewed message that every seed of goodness planted in the field of education must blossom throughout the nation."
He added: "This award is the fruit of deep appreciation and sincere recognition of the distinguished efforts of teachers and their invaluable contributions. The award has undergone a delicate transitional phase and carefully considered transitions, from the moment it was launched, when the award's direction was outlined and its criteria were established, until the results were announced on February 25, 2025. The Ministry, represented by the Directorate-General of Information Technology, worked to create, and program a special electronic system to evaluate the second phase of the award, within a process that ensures transparency and embodies the highest standards of evaluation and fairness. This will be a badge of pride for all who have elevated their educational mission."
After that, a video clip was shown that reviewed the educational process in the Sultanate of Oman, its objectives, and the efforts of the Ministry of Education in the Educational Excellence Award for the Omani Teacher - the second session - and introduced the award, its vision, and its main and sub-objectives. After that, the poet Munira Al-Maamari, a school activities specialist, at Hajer Bani Omar Basic Education School (1-10) in South Al Batinah Governorate, recited a poem entitled: “Educational Excellence.” The poem dealt with the teacher’s effort within the framework of educational excellence to improve education and diversity in the areas of educational excellence. After that, the patronage of the ceremony honored the winners in the first five places for the female teachers who won the Educational Excellence Award for the Omani Teacher in its second session for grades (1-4), the winning teachers for grades (5-8), the winning teachers for grades (9-12), and the students of the Arab Parliament for Children in its fourth session 2025. HE the Minister of Education presented a commemorative gift to HE the patronage of the ceremony.
