Innovative Environmental Solutions from School Students at the National Forum of the GLOBE Environmental Program

17/04/2025

The National Student Research Forum for the (GLOBE) Environmental Program for the year 2025 was held at Movenpick Hotel in Muscat, with the participation of more than (60) students, and (30) teachers from various educational directorates in the governorates of the Sultanate of Oman. This comes within the framework of the Ministry’s efforts to enhance environmental education in Omani schools, and to qualify Omani youth to be leaders in the field of environmental conservation and sustainable development.

The forum aims to showcase the scientific research of school students who have qualified for the national finals. These research projects contribute to resolving environmental issues and are evaluated by a specialized scientific jury. The forum also aims to raise environmental awareness among students and teachers on the importance of these environmental issues and how to address them using modern scientific tools. It also seeks to motivate students to conduct scientific research in various areas of these environmental issues, such as climate change, water quality, and biodiversity protection. Likewise, it aims to encourage students to continue developing their research projects and achieve further scientific achievements in the future.

At the conclusion of the forum, Dr. Ahmed Al Balushi, Director of the Science Sector Department and National Coordinator of the GLOBE Environmental Program, honored the winning scientific research.
