Ministry of Education holds Forum on the E-Learning System

The Ministry of Education, represented by the Directorate-General of Curriculum Development and the E-Learning System and Digital Repository Project Team, organized an introductory forum on the latest developments in the E-Learning System and Digital Repository Project and digital transformation at the Ministry for school principals under the patronage of HE Majid bin Said Al Bahri, Undersecretary of the Ministry for Administrative and Financial Affairs and Chairman of the Digital Transformation Committee, and in the presence of a number of directors of the Ministry’s General Diwan and educational directorates in the governorates.

Dr. Sultan Al Kindi, Director-General of the Directorate-General of Technical and Vocational Education, said: “The Ministry of Education attaches great importance to benefiting from digital transformation as a means of restructuring the education system and ensuring that it keeps pace with the requirements of the modern era. The e-learning system and digital repository project is one of the most prominent initiatives implemented by the Ministry, as it is a fundamental step towards achieving digital transformation in the education sector in the Sultanate of Oman.”

He added: “The system provides an integrated platform that allows students to easily access educational content, enables teachers to manage classes and educational activities digitally, and contributes to enhancing effective communication between school administrations and parents. The digital transformation in education is the key to ensuring the quality of education and developing it in line with future requirements. Through these projects and others, the Ministry affirms its commitment to developing a sustainable education system based on partnership and innovation.”

The forum included three working papers and four school experiments that implemented the e-learning project. Badriya Al-Abri, a digital transformation project management specialist, presented a paper entitled: The Digital Transformation Project. Ali Al-Adi, Head of the e-Learning Department, focused in his paper on the e-learning project and the digital repository. Samira Al-Hadi, a senior educational researcher, spoke about change management and the role of change ambassadors.

Sheikh Ibn Baraka Al Sulaimi Basic Education School in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, Al Mahamid Basic Education School in Muscat Governorate, Al Hassan bin Ali Basic Education School in North Al Batinah Governorate, and Al Awqadin Basic Education School in Dhofar Governorate reviewed their experiences in implementing the e-learning system project, how to implement the project, challenges and solutions, the most important indicators of schools in the system, and the results of its implementation.

The introductory forum on the latest developments in the e-learning system, digital repository and digital transformation project aims to familiarize school principals with the projects and developments in the e-learning system, digital repository and digital transformation, highlight the best practices and successful experiences in employing the e-learning system and digital repository in administrative and educational work, and discuss the challenges and proposed solutions to effectively activate the e-learning system and digital repository.
