Ministry of Education announces Winners of the Educational Excellence Award for the Omani Teacher

The Ministry of Education announced the winners’ names of the Omani Teacher Educational Excellence Award in its second session. The award came as a continuation of the Ministry of Education’s efforts to enhance the status of teachers and appreciate their societal role, and a new addition to the ongoing national initiatives to highlight, encourage and develop the efforts of teachers.

HE Prof. Dr. Abdullah bin Khamis Ambosaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Chairman of the Award’s Supervisory Committee, delivered a speech on this occasion, in which he said: “We meet today to celebrate the people of giving, honor the makers of hope, and appreciate the blessed efforts made to build the promising generations of tomorrow. The teacher was and still is the main pillar of the educational process, and one of the most important pillars of the renaissance of our dear country. Teachers are the ones who plant the seeds of knowledge and water them with giving, so that the country may reap the fruits of a conscious, responsible generation, capable of building its future with will and confidence.”

HE the Undersecretary stressed that the Ministry of Education, by honoring a group of teachers within the second session of the Omani Teacher Educational Excellence Award, confirms its deep appreciation for teachers for their dedication and sincerity in performing their noble mission, and this award is nothing but an incentive towards further excellence and innovation in the field of education.

The award witnessed a great turnout in its second session, as the number of applicants reached (2705) teachers from different educational levels. The first phase of the automated sorting was carried out according to (4) areas: academic achievement (50%), supervisory visits report (20%), learning time (20%), and individual performance measurement system report (Ejada) (10%). The number of those qualified for the second phase reached (530) teachers from all educational levels, and they were evaluated by specialized evaluation committees in (4) areas, including: educational practices (50%), professional development (30%), school activities and events (10%), and community partnership (10%).

HE the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education announced the results of the award, where the total number of winners in this session reached (25) teachers from different educational stages. Winners in the stage from (1-4) are Shamsa Al Rasbi from South Al Sharqiyah Governorate, Badriya Al Dhahli from Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, Aisha Al Jarwani from North Al Batinah Governorate, Azza Al Salti from South Al Batinah Governorate, and Moza Al Fazari from North Al Batinah Governorate. In the stage from (5-8), ten teachers received the award: Sultan Al Habsi from North Al Sharqiyah Governorate, Saif Al Mahfoudhi from South Al Batinah Governorate, Adel Al Ajmi from North Al Batinah Governorate, Abdullah Al Mazrouei from North Al Batinah Governorate, Abdullah Al Alawi from North Al Batinah Governorate, Subha Al Ghaithi from Al Buraimi Governorate, Aida Al Wahaibi from Muscat Governorate, Fatima Al Ya’arubi from Al Buraimi Governorate, Mona Al Mukhaini from South Al Sharqiyah Governorate, and Naima Al Ghaithi from Al Buraimi Governorate. In the stage from (9-12), ten teachers won as well: Mustafa Al Yahyaei from Al Buraimi Governorate, Saleh Al Kasbi from South Al Sharqiyah Governorate, Abdullah Al Roshdi from North Al Batinah Governorate, Abdullah Al Kaabi from Al Buraimi Governorate, Hamoud Al Adawi from Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, Iman Al Rahbi from Muscat Governorate, Badriya Al Muqbali from North Al Batinah Governorate, Rahma Al Azri from Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, Samia Al Hadhrami from Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, and Fatima Al Alawi from North Al Batinah Governorate.

It is worth noting that the award aims to foster a spirit of positive competition among teachers to achieve excellence and creativity, encourage creative initiatives in teaching methods to improve student learning, motivate teachers to apply interactive e-learning in the educational process, improve student performance, motivate them to raise their level of academic achievement, enhance effective community partnership to support the teaching and learning process, and spread and benefit from distinguished initiatives and practices in the educational field.
