HE Majid bin Said Al Bahri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Administrative and Financial Affairs, patronized the opening ceremony of the male wing building at Abu Mudhabi Basic Education School (1-12), with support from Petroleum Development Oman Company, at a total cost of (379,768 OR), among five other wings established in the governorate, with a total cost of more than two million Omani Rials. The building consists of (10) classrooms, a science laboratory, and other facilities such as: administrative rooms, a teachers’ hall, a school cafeteria, a queue canopy, a triple playground, in addition to toilets for students and teachers.
The ceremony was attended by HE Mohammed bin Ali Al Ghafaili, Wali of Haima, a number of Their Excellencies and officials, and representatives of the supporting company. The ceremony included a number of welcoming segments presented by the school’s male and female students.
Majid bin Nasser Al Sinawi, Director-General of the Directorate-General of Education in the Al Wusta Governorate, delivered a speech in which he said: “Today, we celebrate together the opening of this scientific edifice that contributes to providing more educational opportunities and enhancing the educational infrastructure in the Al Wusta Governorate. The expansion of school construction is part of the “Oman 2040” vision to achieve sustainable development and enhance the quality of education. These efforts constitute a long-term investment in the future of future generations are based on the wise government policy that works to provide opportunities for private sector institutions to participate effectively in development, and an approach to educational policy that emphasizes the need to cooperate with private sector institutions to contribute to the development of the educational process, and the desire of the leading and established Oman Oil Development Company to harness part of its financial resources to contribute to the construction of a wing for boys at Abu Mudhabi Basic Education School, which contributes to providing an attractive educational environment for learning.”
On her part, Marouj Al Saidi, Headmaster of Abu Mudhabi Basic Education School (1-12), said that the new wing contributes to improving the level of education and providing all modern educational means which enhances the school’s ability to accommodate a larger number of students and achieve the future vision of providing high-quality education. She stressed the importance of this expansion in enhancing the educational and pedagogical structure in line with the needs of students at the current stage and extended her sincere thanks to the Petroleum Development Oman Company, the project’s sponsor, for their continuous support for the people of Al Wusta Governorate, and their interest in education and its development in a way that elevates the nation and its loyal sons.
