The Ministry of Education, represented by the Department of Educational Studies and International Cooperation, organized a training workshop entitled: “Financial Culture”, targeting employees of the department and the Legal Affairs Department. The training workshop was held at the technical laboratory in the Ministry’s General Diwan.
The training workshop was presented by Yousef Al-Hasani, a systems analyst at the department, presented the workshop which covered several topics, namely: defining financial culture and its importance, basic financial concepts, managing personal income and expenses, saving, and investing, managing debt and financial risks, long-term financial planning, and financial technology (FinTech). The workshop also explained the role of financial institutions and financial education, future trends in financial culture in the Sultanate of Oman, challenges, and opportunities in spreading financial culture, and instilling the principles of culture among school students.
The workshop aims to increase financial awareness by enabling individuals to understand basic financial issues, enhancing the ability to make informed financial decisions, encouraging savings and investment by promoting a culture of saving and opening up investment horizons in various financial fields, reducing financial risks by educating individuals on how to manage financial risks, and avoid financial problems. The workshop also aims to encourage the use of modern financial tools, support financial stability for families, enhance economic diversity by understanding the financial market and personal finance, enhance investment culture, encourage individuals to understand different investment tools, and direct them towards investing in various fields to enhance financial returns and achieve financial independence.
