The Ministry of Education, represented by the Omani School Sports Association, participated in the (44) meeting of the Executive Office of the Arab Federation for Physical Education and School Sports, which was held in Libya.
This meeting is an important step towards promoting school sports in the Arab world through the exchange of expertise and experiences between member states and working to develop sports programs and activities targeting students.
The meeting resulted in a number of outcomes, including: Approval of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan’s request to host a school championship in August 2025 in conjunction with a scientific conference, approval of the State of Libya’s request to host a school championship in August 2026, strengthening of regional cooperation by approving the draft agreement of the Arab Union for Physical Education and School Sports with the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) to enhance joint work in the fields of physical education and school sports, implementation of training workshops with the aim of developing and raising competencies, exchange of experiences between member states, establishment of the Arab Union Award for the Best Teacher of Physical Education and School Sports in the Arab World, in honor of those who excel in this field, and approval of granting honorary membership to the Executive Office to Mr. Muhammad bin Amer Al-Haddad, President of the Libyan Federation for Student Sports.
