Sultanate of Oman participates in the Arab Education Ministers Conference in Qatar

The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Education, participated in the 14th ALECSO Conference of Arab Ministers of Education, organized by the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) in Doha, Qatar.

The delegation of the Sultanate of Oman was headed on behalf of HE Dr. Madiha bint Ahmed Al-Shaibaniyah, Minister of Education - Chairperson of the Omani National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, by HE Prof. Dr. Abdullah bin Khamis Ambosaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Education - Vice Chairperson of the Omani National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, accompanied by Dr. Mahmoud bin Abdullah Al-Abri, Secretary of the Omani National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, and Dr. Suleiman bin Abdullah Al-Jamudi, Director-General of the Directorate-General of Curriculum Development.

The conference, entitled “Inclusive Education and Teacher Empowerment: A Strategic Vision for Education in the Arab World,” aimed to exchange good experiences in inclusive education and teacher empowerment, establish controls and standards to ensure the quality of inclusive education, formulate future directions and visions to develop public education in Arab countries, and enhance cooperation between member states in the fields of education.

HE stressed, during his speech, that the continuous care and attention to the quality of education and human development in the Sultanate of Oman is one of the most important pillars represented in education, qualification, and training. The Ministry of Education seeks, through the Specialized Institute for Professional Training for Teachers, established in 2014, to raise the achievement levels of students and enable the Sultanate of Oman to enhance the skills of the twenty-first century and compete at the international level in the economic aspect, by providing professional strategic training programs, prepared in cooperation with international expertise houses in designing and following up on the implementation of training programs and evaluating the training impact. The conference concluded with a number of recommendations that will be supervised by the (ALECSO) organization in cooperation with member states.
