The Ministry of Education, represented by the Innovation and Scientific Olympiad Department, in cooperation with OMIFCO, celebrated the conclusion of the National Olympiad of Student Scientific Innovation, Robotics Competitions, and Artificial Intelligence for the academic year 2024/2025, under the patronage of HE Dr. Mansour bin Taleb Al Hinai, Chairman of the Public Services Regulatory Authority, in the presence of HE Prof. Dr. Abdullah bin Khamis Ambosaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry for Education, Said bin Salim Al Salmi, Director-General of Human Resources and Work Culture at OMIFCO, Directors-General in the Ministry’s General Diwan and Education Directorates, Heads of Innovation and Scientific Olympiad Departments, and students, at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Hilal Al Khazairi, Assistant Director of the Innovation and Scientific Olympiad Department, delivered a speech in which he said: “The Ministry is keen to provide a stimulating environment for creativity and innovation, and to provide full support to creative students; so that they can develop their ideas and transform them into tangible achievements that contribute to building a bright future. Through organizing these competitions by the Department, we affirm our commitment to promoting a culture of innovative solutions and supporting young minds that carry the banner of digital transformation and scientific and technological progress.”
Student Ohood Al Shaqsiyah from Aisha Al Riyamiah Basic Education School (10-12) in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate gave a speech in which she said: “The Olympiad is a field that radiates challenge, where young energies meet to prove that achievement begins with an idea and is completed with will. In every corner of this Olympiad, new ideas were born, stories of challenge were woven, and high heads rose with a passion for knowledge and a spirit of cooperation. Many thanks to the Ministry of Education for providing us with the opportunity to take our first steps towards a bright future.”
On the sidelines of the ceremony, the jury evaluated the students in the projects and competitions and announced the results. An exhibition was held that included displaying the works of the students in the National Olympiad for Student Scientific Innovations, Robotics Competitions, and Artificial Intelligence, who participated in qualifying competitions at the level of the educational directorates in those competitions, until they reached the competition at the level of the ministry.
The ceremony aims to enhance future skills by having students compete in various fields of scientific innovations, robotics, artificial intelligence, and drones, and to honor supervisors, teachers, and outstanding students in the competitions.
