In Implementation of High Directives of His Majesty the Sultan, HE the Minister of Education meets with HE the Governor of Al Wusta

In implementation of the high directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq on the importance of continuous communication between officials and governors and members of municipal councils, HE Dr. Madiha bint Ahmed Al Shaibaniya, Minister of Education, and the accompanying delegation met with HE Ahmed bin Muslim Jadad Al Kathiri, Governor of Al Wusta, in the presence of Their Excellencies the Walis of the Wilayats of Al Wusta Governorate, and members of the Municipal Council in the Governorate.

The meeting began with a visual presentation by Dr. Suleiman Al-Jamudi, Director-General of the Directorate-General of Curriculum Development, which included: the objectives of the Ministry of Education, its competencies, and the competencies of the Directorates-General of Education in the governorates. Suleiman Al-Ruwaishdi, Director-General of the Directorate-General of Strategic Planning and Development, presented (statistics and figures) that included: the number of government, private, and international schools, the number of students and teachers in each, the number of administrators, and support jobs in government, private, and international schools.

Saif Al Jalandani, Director-General of the Directorate-General of Educational Supervision, reviewed the community partnership between the Ministry of Education and the governorates, in which he mentioned the basic foundations of cooperation and integration between the Ministry of Education and the governorates, areas of community partnership between educational directorates, schools, and governorates, challenges of activating parent councils, and requirements for the next stage in enhancing cooperation between the Ministry of Education and the governorates.

After that, Dr. Faisal Al Busaidi, Director-General of the Directorate-General of Information Technology, presented the efforts made by the Ministry in digital transformation, represented in the digital transformation project 2021-2025, and artificial intelligence in education. Saif Al Kharousi, Director-General of the Directorate-General of Administrative Affairs, spoke about the most important appointment controls, appointment procedures for the position of teacher in the Ministry of Education, and statistics on transfers during the past four years 2021-2024, while Dr. Intisar bint Abdullah Ambosaidi, Director-General of the Specialized Institute for Professional Training for Teachers, reviewed the tasks of the institute, its objectives, strategic programs, national programs, and the most prominent achievements of the Institute for the years 2022 and 2023.

The study plan, curriculum development and educational evaluation was presented by Dr. Sanaa Al-Sinani, Assistant Director-General of the Directorate-General for Curriculum Development, in which she touched on the educational ladder in the Sultanate of Oman, vocational and technical education, and the quality of the school education system. Dr. Yahya Al-Harthi, Director-General of the Educational Measurement and Evaluation Center, reviewed the most important educational evaluation works, and Khamis Al-Hadidi, Director-General of the Directorate-General for Projects and Services, presented the development projects in the tenth five-year plan and its executive position.

The meeting concluded with a number of discussions between the two sides that would contribute to developing the educational process, aspects of support, and cooperation between the Ministry and Al Wusta Governorate. These meetings between the Ministry of Education, governors, and members of municipal councils aim to highlight the Ministry’s efforts, developmental and growth projects in various educational and teaching fields, and to listen to opinions and suggestions that would improve the quality of educational services provided to students, and to discuss common topics between the Ministry and the Governor’s Office.
