The Ministry of Education, represented by the Educational Measurement and Evaluation Center, is implementing national tests electronically on a random sample of public and private schools.
National tests are a standardized scientific tool for measuring the knowledge and skills that students possess after completing a certain educational stage in reading, writing, and arithmetic in grade four, in the subjects of Arabic, English, mathematics, and science in grade seven, and in grade ten in the subjects of Arabic, English, mathematics and science (physics, chemistry and biology).
The national tests consist of two parts: test booklets and questionnaires. The test booklets contain a set of test items that measure the basic skills and knowledge that students possess at the end of a specific stage. The application of the national test booklets is accompanied by questionnaires that are set specifically for the target group of students, teachers, school principals, and parents, with the aim of collecting basic data about the opinions, backgrounds, trends, and aspirations of the target group from the teaching and learning process.
These tests aim to provide information, statistical indicators, and accurate data on the quality of teaching and learning processes for decision-makers and those responsible for the teaching and learning process, to develop appropriate plans, strategies, and development procedures to raise the level of student performance.
It is worth noting that the results of these national tests are not used for the purpose of moving a student from one grade to another, as they do not determine students passing a certain grade or not.
