The Ministry of Education, represented by the Department of Innovation and Scientific Olympiad, began the training camp for qualified students to participate in the twenty-seventh International Juniors Scientific Olympiad in Romania. The seven-days training camp includes six students representing the Governorates of Muscat, Al Dakhiliyah, North Al Batinah, North Al Sharqiyah, and Al Dhahirah.

The training camp includes previous Olympiad questions in chemistry, physics, and biology. It also includes translated questions from the Juniors Scientific Olympiad from previous years. The training camp aims at preparing students and training them in three main fields namely; physics, chemistry, and biology. It also aims to scale up science learning to reach encouraging levels in research and development as well as in competing in all sciences fields.

It is worth noting that the Junior Scientific Olympiad is an annual event for students younger than sixteen years old on the day of Olympiad in December every year. This event is established as affirmation of the importance of natural sciences in general education for youth. It is an educational event that reinforces problem solving and critical thinking in students, and every year, over 57 countries qualify six of their students to participate in this event that aims at forming multicultural friends’ groups and influencing the math and science learning.
