02/12/2024

The Ministry of Education, in cooperation with the Royal Oman Police, organized an awareness program on traffic safety, targeting a number of employees of the Ministry’s General Diwan. The program was held in the presence of Hamad Al Sarhani, Advisor to the Minister for Administrative Affairs, and Al Ahnaf Al Zubaidi, Director of Social Investment and Community Relations at Oman Shell, in Khasab Hall.

The program started with a visual presentation about the (VIA) Road Safety Program, presented by Ali Al-Naamani, a specialist at the Ministry’s Security Office. The presentation included an introduction to the Shell Road Safety Award Program and its supporting entities. The presentation also included training for team members and teachers implementing the program, and its actual implementation in “thirty-three” schools in various educational directorates in the governorates. Following that, Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Saif Al-Ramadani, Director of the Executive Office of the National Committee for Road Safety, gave a lecture entitled “Traffic Culture”, which addressed traffic legislation through the Traffic Laws of 1993 and 2016, and traffic awareness that is carried out through lectures at traffic safety institutes, traffic schools, and relations and media. The lecture addressed the role of the Royal Oman Police in traffic awareness to raise the level of traffic culture in parallel with deterrence.

It is worth noting that the lecture aims to raise traffic awareness among the employees of the Ministry’s General Diwan, review the general developments in traffic rules and regulations, and demonstrate the efforts of the Ministry and the Royal Oman Police in the field of road safety.
