The Ministry of Education, represented by the Omani National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, is participating in the GLOBE environmental program regional conference, which is organized by the program's regional office for the Near East and North Africa region in cooperation with NASA from November 13 to 15 in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi.

The conference targets a number of national coordinators and teachers from different countries, with the participation of a number of students; to give them the opportunity to present their environmental research projects.

The conference activities include presentations on environmental scientific research techniques, and the development of teaching skills, in addition to training sessions presented by experts from NASA on the practical application of GLOBE protocols. NASA supports teachers in using field data and linking it to curricula; to enhance learning based on environmental projects.

The conference also includes an intensive program of interactive sessions and workshops; aimed at building the participants' capacities and providing them with the necessary tools; to implement integrated environmental education projects, which contribute to consolidating environmental education based on scientific research, encouraging students to gain a deeper understanding of environmental challenges, and working to find sustainable solutions.
