The festival this year witnessed a great success and a remarkable presence of visitors and participants of different ages and interests, who are attracted to the world of science and technology and the curiosity of discovery.

Since the launch of the festival, the activities have formed a scientific and cultural platform that allows the community to explore the latest human innovations in various fields, from physics and engineering to medicine and space science, making the festival one of the most prominent scientific events in the region.

The festivals’ corners witnessed a large presence and interaction from visitors from various segments of society. Among these corners is the (Smart Cities) corner which are innovative cities that use information and communications technology and other means to improve the quality of life, the efficiency of urban operations and services, and competitiveness, while ensuring that the needs of current and future generations are met in terms of economic, social, and environmental aspects. The corner also includes various models of urban cities that enhance the overall quality of life.

The Sustainability Hackathon included a number of events, among which are RoboQuest Hackathon; a robotic hackathon competition designed for school students to explore the world of robotics, develop programming skills and employ them in solving problems, and Business Intelligence Challenge Hackathon; a competition to develop students’ creativity and innovation skills by enhancing their technical skills, learning the art of time management and promoting teamwork in the field of entrepreneurship, and Sustainable Development Hackathon; a competition that addresses the field of the environment, and goes through four stages: searching for the problem, generating the idea, the research and scientific refutation stage, and the persuasion and promotion stage.

During the evening of the Oman Science Festival, in the outdoor courtyard of the festival building, festival visitors tour the “Science Park” which consists of 8 activities, including: exploring the beauty of the universe at night using the latest telescopes, displaying the technologies used to control hydroponic systems, and the types of Omani wild trees, in addition to the wireless control technology for light aircraft, and the art of graphic drawing. The Civil Aviation Authority also launches a weather balloon into the atmosphere in this scientific park.

Exciting experiences in the Buds Corner, children participate in various scientific workshops that include smart cities, renewable energy, recycling, irrigation systems, and the use of artificial intelligence devices, robots and 3D printers. In addition, they have the opportunity to participate in entertaining practical experiments and fun scientific puzzles with the aim of giving them the opportunity to learn through play.

The Wonders of the Universe corner includes a group of interactive workshops targeting different categories, including teachers, school students, and university students. These workshops provide interesting information about the origin of the universe, the nature of cosmic rays, gravitational waves, mini lessons on particle physics, and other topics related to physics and astronomy. A virtual link is made with the CERN laboratories to directly view the components of the laboratories and their working mechanism. The corner also reviews the latest studies conducted by the European CERN Foundation in this field.

The Science Bridges corner offers various scientific participations implemented by international scientific institutions, such as: the Belgian National Natural Museum, the National Center for the Gifted in Malaysia, and the Hungarian company (SKILL DICT). The activities provided by these institutions include interactive workshops in zoology and paleontology, interactive activities in the field of robotics, digital learning technologies, and others.

Nama Supply Company is participating in the fourth edition of the Oman Science Festival, through an integrated platform through which it provides the latest technological and interactive solutions. The company presents to visitors the stages of electricity production and transmission to subscribers' properties in various activities, whether residential or non-residential.
