Oman Science Festival continues in its fourth day gaining more crowds from all over the Governorates as the activities continue on Ibn Omaira Theatre, as the activities receiving joyful loud reaction from the crowd.
In the morning time, Consumer Protection Association held awareness competition on consumption culture aiming at raising awareness of sustainable consumption among students. The competition used virtual reality technology to help students experience different environments simulating reality consumption scenarios.
The vocational College participated in Oman Science Festival with an interactive lecture on titled: “Golden Square: Mind and Commercials.” The college also organized interactive competitions in creative thinking using games that included mind games and complex mysteries motivating players to think outside of the box and come up with creative solutions.
During the evening, Occidental Oman presented scientific competitions on the stage of Ibn Oaira Theatre. These competitions focused on the cognitive side in various scientific fields and witnessed impressive interaction from participants as it was an opportunity for creative and critical thinking enhancement.
Knowledge Grid Academy performed a play titled: “Rapid Response and First Aids” with the aim of spreading awareness of healthy and aid skills among society, shedding light on the importance of rapid intervention during emergencies and how to correctly perform first aid.
The Omani Astronomical Society presented an interactive lecture entitled: “Horoscopes between True and Excessive Science”, which included a wide range of topics related to astronomy and celestial phenomena and witnessed a distinguished presence from the Society and the local community. It addressed the differences between accurate technological knowledge and false claims that vary in social media and focused on creative practical scientific concepts and the stars.
The corners of Oman Science Festival also witnessed a large audience from all age groups enjoying presented activities and presentations. Among these corners was the flourishing sciences corner which included modern and various applications and experiments in physics, chemistry, and biology as well as scientific challenges reinforcing the importance of sciences in our lives.
The mobile bus enables visitors to the festival learn about sustainability and the circular economy. The bus contains a cinema and an interactive games area on the aspects of sustainability and waste management, and an interactive display of the Green Schools Project; to instill positive behavior towards a sustainable environment, raise environmental awareness, and encourage the adoption of the best environmentally friendly practices.
Diverse natural resources that our Omani environment is rich of are displayed in the natural resources corner, such as honey, fisheries, wheat, as well as pottery products, frankincense, and Omani Leban.
Energy journey is a presentation of light projection delivered by OQ8 targeting school students where it takes them in a fun educational trip through joint history between Oman and Kuwait showcasing used technologies at OQ8 and their petrochemical products as well as their contribution in the local and international economy.
Bank Muscat corner enjoyed a wide audience of students and visitors who praised the bank’s efforts in spreading financial culture among all categories of the society through offering diverse activities among which is the interactive modern displays that provide visitors with amazing experiences.
