Oman Science Festival 2024 activities continue at Oman Convention and Exhibition Center in the midst of crowds of students, teachers, and science geeks. The second day events were full of exciting scientific experiments allowing visitors to discover modern scientific and technological innovations.

The event included the implementation of interactive workshops where students applied the scientific concepts in their lives for the day as entertainment learning manner. These workshops consist on many fields: Physics, Chemistry, Astronomy, AI, and Modern Technology.

In the morning on Ibn Omaria Theatre, Oman Environmental Services Holding Company “Be’ah” presented a competition titled “Environmental Champions”, which enjoyed a great appreciation among students vising the festival. Ibn Omaira Theatre also witnessed a play by Directorate-General of Education in South Al- Batinah titled “Suns of Knowledge”, that shed light on the great role played by Muslim scientists in enriching scientific developments.

The 4D Frame Company delivered interactive performances on the role of Artificial Intelligence in human technologies used daily in life. These performances are fun interactive educational experiences that included simulations of AI that enhances human creativity.

The evening events continue on Ibn Omaria Theatre with an atmosphere filled with excitement and enjoyment among the audience. The Mishkat interactive exhibition page a presentation titled “Future Expeditors” with aim of spreading awareness of renewable energy and focused on the Sudi Arabia role in energy field. The Fuel Company gave an interactive performance titled “Fuel Story” which told a success story of an Omani fuel factory that was able to produce biodiesel from used cooking oil contributing in decreasing waste and environment pollution.

Many health and academic national and private institutions participated in the current edition of the festival in the health and life corner. During the festival days, these institutions offer various workshops and events targeting the festival visitors in various age and educational groups, where they can identify and see the most prominent modern technologies in diagnosing and treating diseases as well as earning a set of healthy skills and knowledge. The pillar includes (32) various activities, workshops, interactive competitions, and displays of various techniques in the medical field that provide awareness and health culture in various fields in ways and methods that suit all age groups.

The corner of vibrant energies includes (14) scientific activities and workshops in various types of energy and its technologies such as solar energy, wind energy, hydrogen energy, electric energy in addition to nanotechnology, reviewing some experiments of peaceful nuclear technology, as well as interactive offers of the latest mechanical technologies and how to convert initial models into manufacturing models. The corner also showcases thermal insulation simulation models, and the experiences of the Fisher Technic tools.

The festival’s visitors of all ages enjoyed enriching experimental trips through (32) specialized in space science and its various fields, seeing innovations and sciences for exploring the world of aviation and space. Innovative simulation experiences, interactive design challenges, as well as simulator tours, a challenge to aircraft design, and a high -speed virtual race are also in this corner of the festival. It also provides a miniature astronomical dome in which visitors recognize the astronomical components in an interactive manner that allows them to expand their perceptions and attract their interest in modern science. On the other hand, the corner allows visitors to expand their horizons on the basic sciences of aviation and space to motivate their interest in future profession in the aviation and space industry.
