The Ministry of Education held the first edition of the Excellence in Educational Measurement and Evaluation Forum, under the patronage of Dr. Yahya bin Khamis Al Harthi, Director-General of the Educational Measurement and Evaluation Center at the Ministry, and in the presence of the Assistant Directors-General for Examinations, Qualifications and Studies, and for Evaluation and Academic Achievement, and a number of department directors at the Center. The forum took place at Khasab Hall at the Ministry’s General Diwan.
The forum began with Dr. Yahya Al Harthi, Director-General of Educational Measurement and Evaluation Center delivering a speech, in which he addressed the objectives of holding this forum, including learning about The most important developments in the general document for evaluating student learning for grades (1-12), developments in student learning evaluation documents in the humanities and applied sciences, and the most important developments in the controls for preparing exams for grades (5-11). The forum also aims to identify the most important developments in national and international studies, and the importance of having a special criterion for evaluation in the digital transformation system, in addition to identifying the e-learning system, and applying (Classera) in educational evaluation.
Rahma Al Kharousi, Director of the Evaluation of Learning for Humanities and Individual Skills Department, presented a working paper on “Developments in the General Document for Evaluation of Student Learning (1-12),” Nabil Al Qasimi, Head of the Social Studies Learning Evaluation Department at the Center, presented a paper on “Developments in Documents for Evaluation of Learning in Humanities Subjects and Individual Skills.” Hilal Al-Hashemi, Director of the Applied Sciences Learning Evaluation Department, presented a paper on “Developments in Applied Sciences Learning Evaluation Documents” and Mohammed Al-Rashidi, Head of the International Studies Department at the Center, presented a paper on the latest developments in international studies, which addressed the definition of international studies in which the Ministry participates, such as: (TIMSS, PIRLS, and the International Study in Mathematics and Science). Dr. Jamila Al-Maawali, National Studies Specialist, presented a paper titled “Development in National Studies.”
Omar Al-Harthi, Director of the Examinations Management Department, reviewed the latest developments and controls for preparing and managing exams for grades (5-11), Ali Al-Adi, Director of the Education Technology Department at the Directorate-General of Curriculum Development, presented a working paper on defining the e-learning system project and the digital repository (Classera), which is one of the digital transformation programs through which the Ministry seeks to create digital educational learning environments that take into account the highest levels of efficiency and educational services. Dr. Safaa Al-Hinai, Assistant Director of the Department of Studies and Statistical Data, gave a presentation on the “Development of the Educational Evaluation System” project for grades (1-12).
