The Ministry of Education, represented by the School Education Development and Restructuring Project Management Office, the Engineering and Industrial Specializations Team, and members of the Oman Energy Association (OPAL), the strategic partner in implementing these specializations, visited the cooperating private training institutions to follow up on the progress of implementing technical and vocational education in engineering and industrial specializations in North Al Batinah Governorate.

The visiting team met with the students studying there and listened to their opinions and suggestions regarding the curricula of engineering and industrial specializations, transportation, and training workshops. The team also discussed procedures to enhance joint cooperation between these institutions and the Directorate-General of Education in the governorate and the schools applying technical and vocational education in these specializations, and to enhance the role of the coordinator between the two parties to follow up on the regularity of students. The meeting also included the directors of the schools applying technical and vocational education in these specializations; to discuss developmental aspects and enhance the role of the school administration in following up on the application of these specializations.

It is worth noting that the Ministry is implementing during this academic year (6) fields in engineering and industrial specializations from vocational and technical education, which are: engineering maintenance, mechanical manufacturing engineering, occupational health and safety, maintenance of solid structures, lifting and lowering operations, welding and metal forming; with (600) students in ten government schools in the governorates of Muscat and North Al Batinah, studying these specialized subjects two days a week in private training institutions.
