Under the patronage of Saif Al-Julandani, Director-General of the Directorate-General of Educational Supervision, the activities of the second edition of the Professional Support Program for teachers delegated to Assistant School Principalpositions "Localization of School Administration Jobs in the Al Wusta Governorate" for the academic year 2024/2025 launched. The program is implemented by the Ministry of Education represented by the Directorate-General of Educational Supervision, in an effort to attract a number of educational competencies to fill school administration positions to support the educational system in the Sultanate of Oman with a number of school leaders whom the educational system relies on to raise the level of performance and achieve the goals of Oman Vision 2040.

The four-day program targets teachers assigned to the position of Assistant School Principal in the schools of the Directorate-General of Education in the Al Wusta Governorate for the academic year 2024/2025. It includes the presentation of working papers on “school planning, self-assessment tools, supervisory methods and practices”, as well as “school regularity and discipline, school councils, committees and teams”, in addition to “the role of the assistant school principal in following up on administrative and financial affairs in schools, and the role in activating parent councils in schools, and community partnership”.

The program also includes a visit of delegated teachers to a number of educational schools in Muscat Governorate to apply skills in performing tasks, duties and work within the professional support provided to them. A final educational meeting is also held for these delegated teachers with specialists in the School Administration Supervision Unit, and other discussion sessions are held for each group of delegates on the administrative and technical aspects benefited from the professional support program.

It is worth noting that this program comes to prepare school leaders who are joining to fill the position of assistant school principal in educational schools in Al Wusta Governorate with a package of training programs at the beginning of their journey, to familiarize them with the mechanisms of schoolwork, and enable them to lead educational work in schools. Preparing this category for schoolwork is one of the basic goals that the School Administration Supervision Department in the Directorate-General of Educational Supervision undertakes to implement, after the success of the first version of the Professional Care Program during the past academic year 2023/2024.
