 Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar, patronizes , the closing ceremony of the Scout Forum for Youth Empowerment, held at the Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex for Culture and Entertainment in Salalah. The forum was held from 2 until 8 of August

Faris Al-Aufi, Director of the Youth Programs Department at the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth, delivered a speech on behalf of the organizing committee, in which he said: “The Sultanate of Oman pays great attention to its youth through its various institutions, and holding this forum aims to prepare the environment for Arab youth scouting leaders to hone their creativity. The selection of Dhofar Governorate to host the forum came as a result of its historical, touristic, and cultural assets, in addition to the autumn climate, which is a destination for local, Arab, and international tourism.”

The closing ceremony included a scouting and guiding exhibition that included 18 paintings expressing the activities of the Directorate-General of Scouts and Guides, which it implements according to its annual plan. The scouting band also presented a number of beautiful musical pieces, and a visual film was shown about the activities of the scouting forum to empower youth, followed by a speech by the participants. The participants and the cooperating and supporting parties in the success of the forum were also honored.

Regarding the participants’ opinion and impression of the Youth Empowerment Scout Forum, Muntadhar Mohammed Kazim from the Republic of Iraq said: “The forum has a major role in increasing the strength of the bond, brotherhood, and harmony between the representatives of the Arab Scout Associations participating in the forum. The participants gain many scientific and practical skills and applications that will benefit the youth in their future lives. The various sessions played an effective role in enriching the knowledge base and translating it into practical application, in order to qualify and empower young people and motivate them to build themselves and enhance their self-esteem.”
