Her Excellency Dr. Madiha bint Ahmed Al Shaibaniya, Minister of Education, chaired the second meeting of the Advisory Committee for the Specialized Institute for Professional Training of Teachers, in the presence of HE Majid bin Said Al Bahri, Undersecretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs, and members of the committee from the Ministry’s General Diwan. The meeting took place at the Institute’s headquarters on Tuesday morning.
During the meeting, the executive standpoint of the recommendations emerging from the first meeting of the Advisory Committee held on August 21, 2023, was reviewed. This includes the recommendations that were implemented, the recommendations under implementation, and the follow-up on development proposals to achieve the strategic goals of the Specialized Institute for Professional Training of Teachers.
After that, Dr. Mahfouzh Al-Bahri gave a presentation on the Institute’s international cooperation with Queen Rania Academy, the University of Delaware, and Arizona State University, where she explained the importance of international cooperation and its goals for institutions, the establishment of the Institute and its programs in light of international cooperation, and the efforts and activities of the Institute in the field of international cooperation.
Haitham Al-Balushi then reviewed, in his presentation on “Evaluation Studies of Strategic Programs,” the results of a study entitled “The Evaluation Study to Measure the Impact of Specialized Strategic Programs”. The study aimed to measure the impact of specialized training programs (second-field experts, mathematics experts, science experts, Arabic language experts - English Language Experts) which was implemented in the period from 2019-2021 at the Specialized Institute for Professional Training of Teachers in the Sultanate of Oman. It also presented the results of the specialized training program for graduates of the Bachelor of Education
(pre-school child/kindergarten/early education specializations), and the study aimed to evaluate the specialized program for Bachelor of Education graduates.
Dr. Nabil Al-Barza gave a presentation on the institute’s policy management system, during which he discussed the importance of policies and the policy management system, the principles of the policy management system at the Specialized Institute for Professional Training of Teachers, and the procedures for preparing and approving policies.
Dr. Said Al-Manouri then presented a comparison between the leadership program and the Cambridge International Diploma in Educational Leadership, in which he compared the level of the School Leadership Program at the Specialized Institute for Professional Training of Teachers, and the level of the Cambridge International Diploma and Certificate Program in Educational Leadership.
