08/01/2024

General Education Diploma and its equivalent students begin exams for the first semester of the academic year 2023/2024, today, Tuesday, with the total number of students applying for exams reaching 57093 students.

Committees were formed to prepare for examination work, among which is the Preparation Committee. It is the first committee, as it was formed at the ministry level, represented by the Center for Educational Measurement and Evaluation, and its primary mission is to prepare for the educational evaluation work for the academic year, and at the educational governorate level, represented by the departments of educational measurement and evaluation. Another committee is the examination management committee in the educational directorates in the governorate, and its mission is to carry out the tasks managing the work of general education diploma exams, and their level in the governorate, and supervising students’ performance of the exams.

Correction and marking committees at the ministry level and marking centers in the educational directorates in the governorates were also formed, and their tasks are managing the work of correcting exam booklets. The number of centers in which examinations will be held is 361 examination centers distributed among the educational governorates, according to the student density of each governorate. Marking and correction work will be carried out in four centers in two morning and evening shifts. The number of graders in the various centers distributed across the governorates is expected to be about 800 nominated to carry out the marking work in each marking center for each marking period, while more than 6000 teachers have been assigned to monitor the examinees in the examination centers. The correction begins according to the initial plan on Monday, 10/1/2024, and ends on Thursday, 8/2/2024.

As for the mechanisms used to prepare students for the exams, the Ministry, represented by the Educational Directorates in the governorates, has prepared the exam centers by providing an atmosphere that contributes to helping the examinee take the exam in an atmosphere of comfort and calm. It is hoped that all students will prepare for the exams through optimal use of time in the process of studying

and reviewing and focusing while taking the exams. One of the most important instructions that the examinee must follow is to arrive early at the examination center, not to be late in entering the examination hall, and to bring their tools (pens, erasers, and calculators allowed to be brought into the examination halls, the examinee’s identity verification document), verifying their data in the examination book, and adhering to the controls and instructions inside the center, and not taking prohibited items to the exam center.

As for the penalty for those who commit any violations while taking exams, Article (37) of Ministerial Resolution (588/2015) will be applied regarding applicants who violate exam administration controls in various cases of violation, as penalties fall according to the type of case. Some cases of violation may lead to cancellation of the exam. If the violation is repeated, it will lead to cancellation of the result in all academic subjects, and in some cases, it will lead to cancellation of enrollment or registration and denial of registration for the following academic year.
