The Ministry of Education, represented by the Omani School Sports Association, signed a cooperation program with the Omani Football Federation, where HE Prof. Dr. Abdullah bin Khamis Ambosaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Education and Chairman of the Omani School Sports Association, signed the cooperation program with Sheikh Salem bin Said Al Wahaibi, Chairman the Omani Football Union.

The cooperation program between the two parties includes organizing a number of tournaments targeting school students, facilitating the procedures for unloading technical and administrative cadres from both parties, promoting women’s football by launching a girls’ football festival for schools, organizing joint training and technical workshops, and other qualitative administrative and technical aspects sought by both parties.

This program embodies the commitment of the Omani School Sports Association to develop football sports in schools in cooperation with the Omani Football Union, and to provide better opportunities for male and female students by expanding the base of cooperation with national sports federations and committees, including the Football Union.

On the signing of the cooperation program, HE Prof. Dr. Abdullah bin Khamis Ambosaidi, Chairman of the Omani School Sports Association, said: “The agreement for this program includes many activities and events to advance school sports and Omani sports in general, as the program includes attention to empowering the Ministry of Education’s cadres of sports teachers through rehabilitation and training programs that keep pace with the requirements of the times and Oman Vision 2040, in addition to other aspects related to the implementation of leagues and the advancement of football for various groups, including football for girls, which we aspire to have a share in the activities of the Omani School Sports Association.”

“This partnership with the Omani Football Association is not the first of its kind, but it is considered one of our supporters in our previous participations, and by

signing this program today we look forward to the best with regard to school sports in particular and Omani sports in general,” HE added.

On his part, Sheikh Salem bin Said Al Wahaibi, Chairman of the Oman Football Union, appreciated the signing of this cooperation program with the Oman School Sports Association, describing it as a mission, hoping to achieve its goals in a way that serves the aspirations of both parties. Al-Wahaibi said: “We value the efforts of the Board of Directors of the Omani School Sports Association and believe in the value of our strategic partnership with them, and based on that, we intend to activate the frameworks of that partnership towards close, sustainable cooperation aimed at selecting, training and refining the promising talents that abound in our schools, with the intention of producing a new generation of promising players who are capable of achieving the desired achievements for clubs and national teams.”

The Chairman of the Omani Football Union stressed that the matching visions and strategic goals between the two parties paved the way for the signing of this important partnership, expressing his hope to develop it towards broader horizons in the future, pointing out the Union’s determination to create an inspiring and stimulating environment for promising people whose outcomes are consistent with modern training standards to achieve the long-term goals that the Association considers a priority. He added: “Our partnership with the School Sports Association reflects our level of interest in the age levels, as this step comes after the launch of the Talented Centers project, which we are counting on with high hopes to produce quality outcomes. We look forward to contributing to the development of school sports, and stimulating passion and competitiveness among students, in a way that serves Omani football and creates its bright future.”
