Educational Research Forum continues for the Second Day

The Educational Research Forum organized by the Ministry of Education, represented by the Specialized Center for Professional Training of Teachers concludes its sessions yesterday, Wednesday, at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center. The forum enjoyed a participation of international speakers ISESCO, ALSCO, the Arab Education Bureau for the Gulf States, and Sultan Qaboos University. The forum is taking place at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center and continues for three consecutive days, with the participation of more than 300 participants from specialists, decision-makers, academics, and the educational body, including teachers, school principals, administrative supervisors, and trainers, and the presentation of 72 papers.

The second day of the forum included the presentation of 36 papers in six synchronous sessions. The first session was headed by Dr. Maasoma Al Jami, Councilor to the Minister of Education for Developing Linguistic Performance, and the session included presenting six papers. Dr. Basma Al Ryami presented a paper titled “Effectiveness of an Educational Enrichment Program based on Interactive Approach to include Nanotechnology Applications related to Environmental Sustainability in Economic Geography Subject in the Achievement and Trend towards Nanotechnology and Developing the ability to Innovate and Decision Making regarding Environmental Issues among Grade 11 students in the Sultanate of Oman.” Ali Al Muqbali presented a paper titled “Career Future Anxiety and its relation to Professional Self-efficacy and the Level of Professional Ambition among General Education Diploma Students in the South Al Batinah Governorate in the Sultanate of Oman.” Ohood Al Jabri presented a paper titled “Effectiveness of Teaching using the Six-Dimensional Strategy (PDEODE) to Develop Academic Achievement among Grade 11 Students.” Kawthar Al Habsi presented the fourth paper titled “Impact of Self-Assessment on Achievement in Social Studies and Mediative Thinking among Grade 10 Students.” Eman Al Jabri presented a paper titled “Second Cycle Science Teachers’ Practice of Twenty-First Century Skills from

their Point of View,” and Safa Al Zaabi presented the last paper in the first session which was titled “The Role of Teacher in Enhancing Educational Security among Students from the Point of View of Educational Supervisors in the Ministry of Education in the Sultanate of Oman.”

The second session was headed by Dr. Fatma Al Kaaf from Sultan Qaboos University and the session included the presentation of six papers. Hamad Al Ryami presented the first paper titled “The Performance Level of Basic Education Teachers in the Sultanate of Oman in Preparing Continuous Evaluation Tools in light of Education Quality Standards.” Mohammad Al Jaradi presented a paper titled “Effectiveness of the Five-Year Learning Cycle in Developing Mathematical Thinking among Grade 11 Students in the Sultanate of Oman.” Maryam Al Muzahmi presented the third paper titled “Impact of School Principals’ Support on Teachers’ Job Satisfaction and Proposals for Developing it in the Sultanate of Oman.” Manal Al Hattali presented a paper titled “Effectiveness of Teaching with Interactive Infographics in Acquiring Scientific Concepts and Developing Visual Thinking Skills in Science among Grade 4 Students.” Asma A; Salmi presented a paper titled “Science Teachers’ Perceptions of Grades (5_8) about the Effectiveness of Google Classroom Platform in Providing Students with Self-Learning and Problem-Solving Skills.” Aziza Al Abbadi presented the sixth paper titled “Impact of a Training Program in Solving Problem-Solving Questions on Academic Achievement in Mathematics among Grade 2 Students at Al-Wadi Al-Abyad School.”

Dr. Faisal Al Busaidi headed the third session which also included the presentation of six papers. Buthaina Al Huraizi presented the first paper titled “Effectiveness of a Training Program in Interconnected Model of Competency Beliefs (IMPG) for Self-professional Growth of Teaching and Teaching Performance for Science Teachers and its impact on the Academic Achievement of their Students.” Muna Al Nuaimi presented a paper titled “Inclusion of Themes, Priorities, Skills and Values of Oman Vision 2040 in Social Studies Curricula in the Sultanate of Oman from Teachers and Experts Point of View.” Muna Al Amri presented the fourth paper titled “Discovering Causes of Psychological Stress among English Language Teachers in Post Primary Schools.” Maya Al Mamari presented a paper titled “Analysis of Availability of Communicative Abilities in the Final Exams for Grade 10 in the English Language Subject in the Sultanate of Oman.” Basma Al Mashaiki presented a paper titled “Reality of Teachers’ Practice in the Second Field of Augmented Reality Technology to Develop Higher-order Thinking Skills among First Cycle Students in the South Al Sharqiyah Governorate in the Sultanate of

Oman.” The final paper in the second session was titled “Effect of Using Electronic Stories in Developing Skill of Solving Verbal Problems in Mathematics among Grade 4 Students at the Omar bin Al-Khattab Institute for the Blind” presented by Raya Al Shuaibi.

The fourth session was headed by Dr. Aflah Al Kindi from University of Nizwa, and the session included the presentation of six papers. Maryam Al Shirawi presented the first paper titled “Infographic-Based Program on Training Needs to Develop Technology Skills among Special Education Teachers in the Sultanate of Oman.” Dr. Khalsa Al Harthi presented the second paper titled “Teaching Career Satisfaction as a Change Factor between Principals’ Support and Quitting among Basic Education Teachers in Sultanate of Oman.” The third paper was titled “Impact of Professional Learning Communities in Developing Oral and Written Feedback Skills among Educational Supervisors in South Al Batinah Governorate in 2022/2021 Academic Year” presented by Abdullah Al Adawi. Nasra Al Abri presented the fourth paper tilted “Reality of Activating School Administration in Community Partnership in Accordance with Educational Crises Management Needs in Sultanate of Oman.” The fifth paper was titled “Digital Transformation in Sultanate of Oman and Factors Affecting it from the Point of View on Decision Makers” presented by Nawal Al Belushi. The sixth paper was titled “Effectiveness of Mozaik 3D Programming in Teaching Arabic Language on Developing Speaking and Visual Thinking Skills among Grade 4 Students” presented by Nawal Al Yaqubi.

The fifth session was headed by Dr. Ali Saif Al Jahwari which also included the presentation of six papers. The first paper was titled “Impact of Professional Learning Communities in Developing Oral and Written Feedback Skills among Educational Supervisors in South Al Batinah Governorate” presented by Dr. Maryam Al Belushi. Dr. Safiya Al Hajri presented the second paper titled “Relation between Teaching Knowledge of Content and Professional Performance and Self-Competency among Science Teachers.” Nora AL Nabhani presented the third paper titled “Integrating Interactive Whiteboard Technology in Teaching Literacy Skills to Grade 2 Omani Basic Education Cycle 1 Learners with Jolly Phonics.” The fourth paper was titled “Reality of Psychological Guidance Services presented to Parents of Students of Mental Integration in Sultanate of Oman” presented by Hind Al Hashmi. Jamilah Al Hinai presented the fifth paper titled “Impact of Augmentative Reality Technology in Developing Creative Thinking Skills and Motivation in Arabic Language Subject among Grade 5 Students.” Rashid Al Samsami presented

the sixth paper titled “Role of Basic Education Teachers in Developing Critical Thinking in Muscat Governorate in Sultanate of Oman.”

The sixth and Final session of the second day was headed by Dr. Ali Humaid AL Jahwari, and also included six papers. The first paper was titled “Impact of Using WhatsApp in Developing Reading and Writing Skills in Arabic Language among Grade 11 Students in Muscat Governorate and their Trends toward it” presented by Dr. Abdulmuttalib Al Mosawi. Dr. Aisha Al Wahshi presented the second paper titled “The Relation between Cognitive Higher-Order Thinking Skills and Job Performance among School Principals od Basic Education Schools.” Wafa Al Haddabi presented the third paper titled “Government School Principals’ Role in Achieving Sustainable Development in South Al Batinah Governorate in Light of National Strategy of Education 2024 from the Teachers’ Point of View.” Yusuf Al Hatmi presented the fourth paper titled “Difficulties of Using Active Learning Strategies from the Point of View of Mathematics Teachers’ in South Al Batinah Governorate.” The fifth paper was titled “Major Five Factors of Personality and Cognitive Imperfections and its Relation to Grade 11 Students Achievement in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate” presented by Jokha Al Masrori. The final paper of the second day was titled “Using Mobile Phone and Tablet Applications to Promote Vocabulary Learning” and was presented by Ahlam Al Hamadni.

It is worth noting that the forum focuses on four basic topics, namely: developing the school education system, improving learning outcomes, raising the quality of school education, and developing the professional competencies of teachers. The forum comes with the aim of presenting international educational visions in the field of research, exchanging research experiences between various educational groups, and developing educational research by reviewing the results of studies and procedural research supervised by the Specialized Institute, and aligning educational research with the development needs of the educational field.
