Ministry of Education holds Introductory Seminar on the Reality of Student Affairs Regulations in Light of Technological Changes

The Ministry of Education, represented by the Department of Educational Studies and International Cooperation, organized  an introductory seminar entitled “The reality of student affairs regulations in light of the rapid technological changes in the schools of the Sultanate of Oman,” which targeted ten employees from the department of Educational Studies and International Cooperation and the Legal Department. The seminar was held at the technical development laboratory at the Ministry’s General Diwan. 

The seminar was presented by Trainer Yousef Al-Hassani, from the Department of Educational Studies and International Cooperation. The seminar addressed the definition of the Student Affairs Regulations in the schools of the Sultanate of Oman, as the official document that deals with government schools, with regard to the procedures of organizing students in terms of admission, registration, transfer of students, and uniforms, school and academic regularity, and behavioral discipline distributed over forty-one articles that are divided into six chapters. The seminar also introduced the document’s origins, development, and the technological changes that have occurred to it, namely, integrating technology into classrooms, improving network infrastructure, providing mobile devices for students, e-learning platforms, smart learning applications, training teachers on modern technology, and encouraging innovation and programming. 

The seminar also touched on changes in regulations in government schools, affected by rapid technological transformations, through the integration of technology into education, managing students online, improving their interaction, providing their services electronically, digital assessment, effective communication, information security, supporting learning throughout life, and directing online employment, financial resources, and information management. The seminar included as well educational portal applications, learning about software system applications, projects, computerized systems, blended learning applications, and open data. 

The seminar aims to introduce the student affairs regulation list and its updates, the portal applications, how to use them, and provide employees with new skills and knowledge.
