Ministry of Education celebrates the Opening of the Theater of the Directorate-General of Education in Muscat Governorate

Under the auspices of HE Dr. Madiha bint Ahmed Al Shaibaniya, Minister of Education, the Ministry celebrated on  the opening of the theater of the Directorate-General of Education in Muscat Governorate. The celebration ceremony was attended by a number of members of the State Council, their excellencies, directors-general, educators, and students. The ceremony was held at the Dohat Al Adab School in Al Khuwair. 

The ceremony began with a visit to the theater facilities, “the Scholars Hall, the Science Hall, the Conference Hall, and the Scholars Council,” followed by a visit to the exhibition of the Governorate’s students’ paintings, which contained “fifty-three” paintings that expressed the joy of the nation (eighth edition). A student poetry debate was presented under the titled “Theater of Generations,” which embodied the role of educational theater and its importance in containing students’ talents and developing their abilities. 

Then, HE inaugurated the visual identity of the theater’s logo, which consisted of a mixture of blue and green colors. It was followed by a dialogue session for specialists and experts in the field of school theater and its educational role, which included the contribution of school theater in establishing the Omani theatre, its academic benefits, and the role of the school activity specialist in caring for it. In addition, the ceremony included showing video clips of students talking about their beginnings in school theater, their participation, and the results their schools obtained. 

After that, a video clip was shown about the directorate’s theatre, and its importance in developing students’ theatrical and artistic talents. The video included the theater’s facilities and meetings with officials of the directorate about the theater and its roles, the stages it went through, the developments it witnessed, and the activities it will include. After that, HE honored the students who excelled in artistic activity, the participants in the Farhat Watan Exhibition (eighth edition), numbering “fifteen” students, and the institutions and individuals supporting the ceremony. At the end of the ceremony, Dr. Ali Al-Jahwari, Director-General of the Directorate-General of Education in Muscat Governorate, presented a gift to HE the Minister and patronage of the event.
