The Ministry of Education, represented by the Directorate-General of Educational Supervision, Department of Applied Sciences Supervision, implemented morning a virtual enrichment program titled “Educational Supervision: Development and Sustainability.” The program comes to develop the professional competencies of supervisory groups in applications of artificial intelligence in supervisory work, and to employ procedural research in addressing educational challenges.
The program included a number of papers, where Dr. Said Al-Kalbani, Digital Services Specialist at the Directorate-General of Information Technology, presented a paper entitled: Educational Supervision in the Age of Artificial Intelligence” where he highlighted the integration of artificial intelligence technology into supervisory work, artificial intelligence challenges at the present time, and tools that can support supervisors to benefit from modern technology in saving time, effort, and performing tasks. Dr. Nasser Al-Hadrami, Senior Lecturer at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Nizwa, discussed the topic of employing Microsoft cloud applications in educational supervision and learning where he gave a brief overview of some of these applications, such as the Sway application to create and share interactive reports, presentations, and personal stories, the To-Do application to create tasks list and manage it effectively, the Stream application to share videos of training seminars, classes, and presentations, the Forms application to prepare tests virtually, and others.
The paper on procedural research and its role in improving the educational process was presented by Dr. Muhammad Al-Riyami, Assistant Professor at the College of Science and Arts at the University of Nizwa, where he addresses the concept of procedural research, its importance, and presented a comparison between procedural and academic research. The enrichment program concluded with a paper presented by Dr. Saud Al-Hunaini, Lecturer at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Ibra, in which he discussed the use of procedural research in solving educational problems through defining problems, ways to deal with them and solve them using procedural research.
The enrichment program aimed at raising the efficiency of supervisory groups in employing artificial intelligence applications, supporting modern trends in using technology, benefiting from the results of procedural research in improving the educational process, and using scientific methods in solving educational problems.
