Ministry of Education implements Training Program in Preparing National Tests in the Arabic Language Subject

The Ministry of Education, represented by the Center for Educational Measurement and Evaluation, the Department of Studies and Statistical Data, the Department of Evaluation of Learning Humanities Subjects and Individual Skills, and the Department of Evaluation of Learning the Arabic Language, is implementing the training program “Building Capabilities in Preparing Exam Vocabulary for National Tests in the Arabic Language Subject”. The three-days program continues till Tuesday and targets (22) participants who are beginning teachers and educational supervisors in the Arabic language subject.

The program includes a number of papers, where Dr. Jamila Al-Ma’awli, Senior Studies Specialist in the Department of Studies and Statistical Data, presented a paper entitled: “National Tests: Definition and Importance.” Then, Maryam Al-Jabri, Arabic Language Evaluation Specialist, presented the second paper titled “Preparing National Tests in The Arabic Language Subject,” and the third paper dealt with the specifications of the national test in the Arabic language subject, and its outcomes for the tenth grade and was presented by Ahlam Al-Tobi, Arabic language evaluation specialist. Suad Al-Balushi, the Arabic language subject evaluation specialist, will also present a paper on the national test specifications in the Arabic language subject and its outcomes for the seventh grade. The program concludes with a worksheet on the specifications of the national test in the Arabic language subject, and its outcomes for the fourth grade, presented by Dr. Mahfouz Al Shayadi, a first field evaluation specialist. The program includes practical training on writing test vocabulary for grades (fourth, seventh, and tenth).

The training program aims to build the capabilities of preparing exam vocabulary for national tests in the Arabic language subject, to introduce national tests and their role in measuring students’ mastery of the basic skills for each stage, and to train in preparing vocabulary according to the outcomes that measure the skills of understanding the read text, analyzing the literary text, and formulating exam vocabulary for national tests for grades (4-7-10) according to the specifications table prepared for each grade.
