Ministry of Education implements Training for Students Participating in the Arab Championship for Mathematics and Logic Games

The Ministry of Education, represented by the Department of Innovation and Scientific Olympiads, began on Thursday evening the training camp for the participation in the Arab Championship for Mathematics and Logic Games in its “first” edition. The training camp continues for seven days, with the participation of “four students” representing the governorates of Al-Dakhiliyah, North Al-Sharqiyah, South Al Batinah, and Al Buraimi, at the Best Western Primer Hotel in Al Khuwair City.

The training camp includes intensive training consisting of “forty-eight” training hours in a variety of puzzles and mathematical logic games, in several areas, the most important of which are: logic, arithmetic, compositions, algebra, geometry, decoding, cutting, folding, and paving; to prepare students to participate and represent the Sultanate of Oman in the championship organized by the Arab Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), which is scheduled to be held in the Republic of Tunisia during from 27 to 29 of this month.

The training camp aims to train students and prepare them to participate in the championship, provide them with various skills and new ideas, and form a national team that will compete in the championships for years to come.

It is worth noting that a number of “twenty-two” students from various educational governorates were nominated, with two students from each governorate, to compete for the participation in the championship. They were trained for (thirty) virtual training hours, and then a filtering test was conducted to choose the number of “four” candidates, two of them are participating in this championship, namely the student Muhammad Al-Hudayfi from grade 6 at Abdul Rahman bin Abi Bakr School for Basic Education in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate, and the student Shahad Al-Mandhari from grade 6 at Umm Ayman School for Basic Education in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate. The other two students namely student Mohammad Al Salmani from grade 6 at Suhaib bin Sinan School for Basic Education in South Al Batinah Governorate and student Sarah Al Kalbani from grade 5 at Hafeet School for Basic Education in Al Buraimi Governorate, were chosen to prepare to compete in the upcoming championships.
