The Ministry of Education, represented by the Directorate-General of Curriculum Development and the Department of Citizenship, organized a ceremony to honor schools excelled in the Positive Interaction and Sense of Responsibility project, under the auspices of HE Prof. Dr. Abdullah bin Khamis Ambosaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Education, and in the presence of a number of Directors General in the ministry’s General Diwan, and a group of project supervisors in the educational directorates in the governorates.
The honoring ceremony included the Ministry’s speech delivered by Sultan Al Kindi, Assistant Director-General for Educational Resources Affairs, in which he said: “Interest in citizenship within its various dimensions is a process involving various entities and institutions, the family and society, civil society institutions, and the media, and before of all these entities is the Ministry of Education, based on its specialization in raising young people, by providing them with the skills, knowledge, and values necessary to build a developed and sustainable society, or as Oman Vision 2040 described it, as “a society with creative human beings, proud of their identity, innovative and globally competitive, enjoying a decent life and sustainable well-being.”
He concluded his speech saying: “The Ministry of Education has taken upon itself the responsibility of implementing the lofty vision, national priorities, and Oman’s future vision in multiple programs, curricula and activities, ensuring the upbringing of generations that are proud of their homeland, contribute to its construction, and thrive in its shade on an equal footing, seeking knowledge, innovation and construction.”
The ceremony concluded by honoring the excelled schools, where Aisha Umm al-Mu’menin School for Basic Education from Al Dakhiliyah Governorate School won first place with the Street Vendors Project. Saham School for Basic Education for grades (10-12) from North Al Batinah Governorate came in second place with the Virtual Museum Project. Also came in second place, Sheikh Salem bin Said Al-Saeighi School from the Muscat Governorate. Al-Wafi Basic Education School for grades (5-12) from the South Al Sharqiyah Governorate, and Umm Dhar
Al-Ghafari School for Basic Education (1-12) from the Al Buraimi Governorate, both came in third place.
The honoring ceremony was accompanied by the exhibition of the Positive Interaction and Sense of Responsibility project, in which the excelled projects were presented with the aim of recognizing these projects as they serve the Omani identity of customs, traditions, and values linked to history and geographical location.
