More than 80 Students honored with the Academic Excellence Award in its Sixteenth Session

Under the auspices of HE Dr. Madiha bint Ahmed Al Shaibaniyah, Minister of Education, and in the presence of HE Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al Harrasi, Minister of Information, HE Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed Al Asimi, Director-General of the Arab Education Bureau for the Gulf States, and Abdullah bin Nasser Al Badr, CEO of Almarai Company, the Ministry of Education celebrated on Monday evening the honoring of 84 students with the Academic Excellence Award for general education students in the member states of the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States, which was organized by the Bureau in cooperation with the Ministry of Education in the Sultanate of Oman, and with the support of Almarai Company. The honoring ceremony was held at the JW Marriott Hotel - Muscat.

The honoring ceremony began with a speech by HE Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Muhammad Al-Asmi, Director-General of the Arab Education Bureau for the Gulf States, in which he said: “Honoring the innovators and the outstanding represents an inspiring human value and a civilized practice that reflects society’s interest in science and its appreciation for it. It is also an encouragement to them and their peers to be more diligent and to motivate them to succeed and excel in academic achievement. The Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States has realized that students are the pillar of the present, leaders of the future, and the focus of community development and prosperity. Therefore, the Bureau was keen to include academic excellence programs within its plans in order to enhance competition in the fields of science and knowledge and spread concepts of excellence among general education students to continue on the path of diligence and success.” HE concluded his speech with a congratulation to the honored students and a call to continue on the path of excellence.

After that, Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Badr, CEO of Almarai, gave the company’s speech on sponsoring the award and said: “Almarai’s sponsorship of this award on an annual basis comes to consolidate its role in developing education and encouraging students’ skills and creative abilities, and the company will continue its tireless endeavor to implement and support initiatives that are in the interest of the youth. In addition, investing in education and developing human competencies is one of Almarai’s priorities, and it is a sustainable vision in developing the communities in which it operates, and this is clearly consistent with the objectives

of the Academic Excellence Award in caring for and supporting the outstanding and the talented, as it is the foundation on which we build leadership in the future, and the main focus of possessing knowledge tools, through a modern scientific base for discovering and nurturing talented people and qualifying them to engage in the process of sustainable development.”

Student, Bodour bint Abdullah Al-Yafi, from Al-Zahra Private School in Dhofar Governorate, gave a speech on behalf of the honored students, in which she said: “It gives me great pleasure to deliver this speech on behalf of my fellow students, translating the most profound meanings of thanks and gratitude, conveying their joyful feelings on this occasion. Today we deserve a space of hope and happiness that we can look forward with greater awareness to a bright future and a deep desire to continue the successful path of knowledge with resolve, determination, and love until we reach our goals.” Badour Al-Yafia, on behalf of her and her honored colleagues, expressed profound thanks and great gratitude to their parents and teachers. She also expressed sincere thanks and gratitude to the honorable leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries for the beautiful care and good guidance.
