Ministry of Education implements Program to Localize School Administration Positions in Al Wusta

The Ministry of Education, represented by the Directorate-General of Educational Supervision, implemented yesterday morning (Tuesday) a professional care program for teachers assigned to occupy school administration positions (school principal, assistant principal) in the schools of the Directorate-General of Education in Al Wusta Governorate, within the framework of the program to localize school administration jobs for the academic year 2023/2024.

The first day of the program included a number of papers, where Dr. Sultan Al Balushi, School Administration Supervisor in the School Administration Supervision Department, presented a paper entitled: “The administrative roles of the school assistant principal in light of the regulations and activities.” The second paper was titled “Electronic Supervision” and was presented by Yasser Al-Saadi, School Administration Supervisor in the School Administration Supervision Department. Said Al Jabri, Senior Supervisor of School Administration in North Al Batinah, presented the third paper entitled: “School Planning,” and Raya Al Habsi, Senior School Administration Supervisor in the School Administration Supervision Department presented the fourth paper titled “Self-evaluation is the way to school development and improvement”. The first day concluded with a paper on general supervisory directives by Salem Al-Harthi, School Administration Supervisor in the School Administration Supervision Department.

The second day of the program included a visit to some schools in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, where the participants were divided into three teams. The first team visited Bilal bin Rabah School for Basic Education for Boys, Grades (5-12), the second team was briefed on the experience of Umm Qais Al Asadiya School for Basic Education for Girls, Grades (10-12) and the third group learned about what is offered from the administrative side at Al-Dassar School for Basic Education, grades (1-9).

Murooj Al-Saidi, Principal of Al-Maaref School for Basic Education 1-12, , said: “The professional care program for teachers to fill administrative positions in the Al-Wusta Governorate is considered the first of its kind. This training supports and assists us in school administration. Being educational leaders, we must get to

know job tasks, supervision, and self-evaluation. After the recent developments, we must look at them to align with Oman Vision 2040, as well as to prepare creative students capable of serving their country, and to strengthen the role of the Omani teachers and how to empower them in the educational field.”

Badr Al-Balushi, Assistant Principal, said: “The professional care program for the localization of teachers assigned to administrative positions in Al-Wusta Governorate supports the localization program of the academic year 2023/2024. Being an Assistant School Principal, it is necessary to be aware of the educational developments represented during the fruitful training session about job tasks, electronic supervision, planning, and self-evaluation.”

In the second phase of its implementation, the program aims to train participants on best administrative practices and exchange field visits with some school administrations in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate.
