The Ministry of Education, represented by the Directorate-General of Administrative Affairs (Training and Qualification Department), concluded today (Wednesday) morning the training program on “Document Classification”, under the patronage of Dr. Said Al Ameri, Head of the Office of HE the Minister of Education, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

This training program targeted (31) trainees from employees of the Documentation Department at the Ministry’s General Diwan and the educational directorates in the governorates. It aimed at dealing with modern methods and physical equipment in postal management.

Regarding the topics of the training program, Khalid Al Balushi, Head of the Training Programs Department at the Directorate-General of Administrative Affairs, said: “This program included four topics, the first included the classification of indexing in terms of classification, its objectives, and the implementation of the classification system approved in the Sultanate of Oman, and models and forms of classification systems according to standards, procedures, rules, and systems approved for managing current and intermediate documents. The second topic focused on dealing with tools and devices, dealing with folders and paper files, managing the storage of intermediate documents, the best global methods for doing so, the use of modern physical methods in mail management, and the technical equipment necessary to maintain the security and confidentiality of information. The third topic discussed the document management system, creating records and lists, building retention tables, and retention periods. The program concluded with the final topic dealing with documents, the life stages that a document goes through, authentication, licensing, auditing, and managing complex documents.”

At the end of the training program, Dr. Said Al Ameri, Head of the Office of the Minister of Education, the patronage of the occasion, honored the organizers of the program and the participants.
